hot

Tempting...

In before someone asks if indicators are optional

Lol - usually Audi's have the problem!

Would be hot if it was 4series. Unsure what your going to get for this in 2yrs when they no longer make this model.

Oh FFS. There's always one.

It would be even hotter if it was an i8 but it's not is it.

Do you hold off buying tins of beans just in case they go out of date in a few years??

What makes you think that? You do realise this is 4 door saloon right?

great deal but i'm not keen on bmw reliability, turbo and pump issues at 80-100k miles and they think this is ok for a 25-30k car. Sorry but Vw and Audi are a little more durable imo.
Great deal if your in the market.

I've had my fill of VW and Audi, they are all much of a muchness IMHO. It's largely the technology forced upon the manufacturers that is proving to be the root cause of issues - DPF & EGR are common across many vehicles. VNT Turbo's suffer in cars with EGR. We had to have a turbo replaced at just under 80k on a SEAT Leon 140 PD TDI.

I've just had over £5k of warranty work done on my VW T5 van. I sent an Audi back to them earlier this year due to a manufacturing fault affecting a huge number of cars but that is being kept quiet by Audi.

I'll take 2, one for each foot

Hmmmmmmmm.....very.....tempting.....Hmmmm

the 318d m sport or 320d m sport looks tempting for a bit extra does anyone know the difference from the sport and m sport....?

Edited by: "BoGoF" 27th Oct 2014

So if this was automatic it would of been a bigger hmmmmm

Go for the SE version. It includes windows and a steering wheel.

why wouldn't they make it in 2 years? The 3 series is a bmw icon. The original bmw icon

If you want a diesel - get a tractor!

The old E46 facelift shape looks far nicer.

Be smart and go for a petrol car.

No one's said it...

You can get a MONDEO for half this price you mugs and the indicators work ahahaha I'm really funny saying that.

Sense at last, all diesel drivers were conned into buying them.

hey, I'll soon be the only person not to own a bumw!

audis and vws are no longer reliable as they used to be. mercedes are the most reliable out of the three then bmw for current cars

I want one, can't afford it.

Diesels are going to be hit by big road tax increases shortly due to their particulate emissions being carcengenc.

DPFs are problematic so not a solution... Unless you are doing big miles diesels will not be worth while and I'm finding that out now!

Having said that, I love my diesel and I've had my hands on a 330 m sport which was simply amazing.

We'll all be pushed back to petrol soon and maybe bmw know it.

Once the authorities get their mits into diesel taxes watch the values of all diesel cars plummet.

Lol never liked german cars due to their lack of charcter - so always had italian cars mainly Alfas - however for the last five years had an almost new VW and never had any of my italian cars with so many bits of broken trim and faults - totally disapointed and stupidly believed the hype. Only reason i purchased a vw is because there is nothing from the italian stables that meet our needs :-( so looks like i will end up with another :-(

A1's with a roof that is affected by heat from sunlight. When the roof is heated it expands apart from two area's centrally above the rear seat which are bonded to to the cross member, this gives two nice little dents in the roof which disappear again when the roof cools.

Hehe, DPF light came on today on my e60 525d lci at 71k miles. My first and probably last diesel car.

I don't think so.

I think what you refer to is the recent news hype which centred around some comment from Boris and which was blown out of all proportion by the press.

What Boris was trying to say, and frankly I agree, is that some polluting vehicles in London (and in the UK in general) will have to be phased out. I would suggest this is in no small part the heavily polluting London cabs.

Most if not all diesels sold in the UK today will be at leat Euro 5 spec, many are Euro 6. The one discussed here is Euro 5 but is also available with a Euro 6 engine.

Get it up to 3k revs for half hour if you can.

Not my choice of car - where would I put the two chocolate Labradors?

But a very good price!

I think BJ is just jumping on a bandwagon backed by extensive research and pushed forward by more liberal / green pressure groups.. Though he may have a valid point.

Diesil will not go away, it's far too good a model.
In my opinion we may see smaller higher revving diesil engines or something to achieve more efficient combustion; as we all agree DPFs get emissions down but currently cause big and expensive problems.

In before someone asks if indicators are optional

In fact indicators are very necessary on a BMW, the drivers use them in hazard flasher mode to exempt themselves from parking restrictions.

Back on topic, this is a very good deal for anyone who is looking for a new BMW 3 diesel.

I can't see the fuel taxation on Diesel increasing any time soon, diesel is already more expensive in the UK than in much of Europe where Petrol is more expensive.

Petrol is no bundle of laughs in terms of emissions either, how long before we see a scare story of how damaging Petrol fumes are??
