68PS ! that is seriously slow!

101mph quoted top speed isn't slow (70 is the legal limit), however 14.2 0-62 is.

Does speed really matter nowadays? When I go out I go from one traffic queue to another, and when I check my car computer my average speed is never over 30mph.... In today's world of just about every road being congested the last thing we should be worried about is speed

Not my cup of tea even slightly but cannot knock the price of this! All the moaners should try to find a better new option before voting cold.

Top speed might not be an issue but it will be very sluggish getting there with that engine. You really have to trash these to get anywhere when fully laden.

If they do a 1.2 or 1.4 option for a little more then go for those

Non.

Not exactly an Aston Martin V12 Vantage (~4 seconds for 0-60)
Or even a Scoda Rapid TSI (~10 seconds 0-62)

But it is a lot cheaper

Ta OP.

I'd look at the Corsta Sting from the same people. Only a 2 year deal, but monthly payments are £99 and the 1.2 isn't too slow. Give it back at the end of the 2 years, get something else on offer at that time.

C3 getting a bit long in the tooth and it's had a whole host of recalls. Avoid.

A better car but with a crap engine...

Good website, i am waiting for the Cactus C4 Auto to go down in price, i dont want to pay £15k

Ok, anyone considering this deal I tell you about my experience with Citroen. In 2008 I bought c4 on similar deal - £7999, £4000 off rrp. First 3 years were relatively trouble free until 1st MOT.... £800. In year 5 head gasket gone, another £800, plus other stuff needing fixing including services were £2000 over 7 years. Car tax £180 X 7 years. sold it last month for £1,200. So in 7 years it cost me £11,700 or £1,670 a year or £140 a month. Not great considering you can get lease deals for better cars around the same price and have a brand new car every 2-3 years.

Seems to have a good reliability rating as an average;

reliabilityindex.com/rel…/70

Certainly far higher than most German cars. However it might be worth checking on how good that puretech engine is, reliability etc, quality of turbo unit if it has one. Someone considering buying one might want to do some research on that.

@kvn618, fair enough, but I'd say you were either unlucky, or other factors resulted in your issues. That certainly isn't normal.

Pretty sure the 1.0 lump PSA use is also used by Toyota.

And it doesn't have a turbo, it's only 68ps.

Pretty bad reviews TBH but hey, it's cheap.

My wife has had a c3 for 3 years and never had any issues and no recalls, brilliant little car.
Just sailed through its first mot.
Only issue Bluetooth stopped working, just awaiting a new head unit (under warranty)

I used to drive an Audi TT, Toyota celia, focus rs and now I drive a little renault clio and frankly don't care about speed anymore, just nowhere to abuse it anymore and running costs were mental. Citron ain't really my bag but voted hot for a great deal.

It just means you have to be selective when you enter a roundabout.

What like 2AM?

Quick google turned up a VTR+ here with delivery mileage for the same money.

I agree with the comments that it looks a touch underpowered but thats an awful lot of new car for the money. VTR+ even has cruise control!

Won't stop the boy racers racing up to 50mph to go 200 yards between one set of traffic lights to the next

8k is not cheap for a 1.0

Is the cost here even 8k anyway?
I am reading this as your are forced to take out their credit so you actually pay 10.3k

Total Amount Payable £10276.02

It's the people going out to country lanes they are unfamiliar with purely for a drive that get right on my nerves, as they believe they can bomb down a winding and twisting country lane with loads of blind corners at 50mph. The speed limit is not the recommended driving speed.

no sat nav? brand new cars nowadays should hv built in sat nav...

There's a story like that for every brand of car.

Checked this out, the facelifted C3 appeared in 2013, the engine also appeared in 2013 is PSA developed Puretech 1.0 and is not shared outside the Peugeot/Citroen models. Gives 99 g/cm CO2 for low VED, this is the reason for the gentle acceleration (which won't be a problem for any capable driver).

I'd say this is good value for the car.

Good Price for a brand new car.

Voted HOT

Never again will I own a citroen. Utter cr*p they are. customer service even worse. Clever cars poorly made. It will break and it will cost you a fortune. even under warranty.
