Following on from last night's expired £190 15.6" Vostro laptop deal (Thanks SIMBACHIPS; credit due) is this not a good deal of £200 saving from a 17.3" screen i3 laptop???
Not a refurb and don't be put off that its for sale on the Dell Small Business website; just enter your own name in the business name field at the checkout.

2% TCB ends in 1 day
6% Quidco ends in 13 hours (£14.94 Cashback due on exc VAT and delivery price only)
VAT & delivery is included (latter is £24; unsure if any codes exist).
1% Freedom points if you use Barclaycard (possibly).

£200 discount expires on 15/5/12.

choose between Red Silver or Brass finish of the laptop case. Oh and this is my first post so am a bit nervous.

Avoid extra memory Dell inflated cost and buy from crucial.com instead!

**Update**: link straight through to Dell home rather than Small Business site by
pasting this deal instead: configure.euro.dell.com/del…501. Thanks robot1000. Price is the same but lets you choose i7 processor for £138 more.

for those interested to know the screen resolution, its 1600 X 900

good deal but the processor choice isn't really a choice as the build configurator won't let you upgrade the processor to the i7. It says that the graphics option is incompatible but doesn't offer any other options. But heat added for the deal as posted!:)

BTW, its worth updating the title with the quidco options as its quite generous (_;)

Thanks Redduck, have just done so re quidco. A bit strange re: not allowing i7! I have just ordered a i3 anyway myself!

Where are you stuck?

Click the link (if you dont use quidco otherwise search for Dell Business on quidco then go thru to Dell type in the e-code n0537501 that brings up the laptop with £200 off).

georgecat

Would it have killed them to put 4GB in?

Agree, its a £50 option!

Just ordering and the price seems to have leapt up, half way thru and ist showing £399 without the vat. Must be doing something wrong?

Buy 8GB from crucial.com later...Less than £35 8GB RAM

Worth considering the £30 backlit keyboard or £45 for 3year next day support.

If you change spec to 3gb RAM and order 2, then Use MikeT's code 0NCHVC47ZLKZB8 it will take £25 off each laptop - £633.60 for 2. £316.80 each
Also works with the backlit keyboard. Leave the RAM at 2gb, add the backlit keyboard, add the code - £657.60 for 2, £328.80 each.

agreed about the memory from crucial. The laptop is pretty much unusable with 2gb but dell costs are astronomical. I priced it with a separate upgrade in mind. I'm still to press the 'buy' button it is a very good deal for a 17" screen laptop.

Thanks Redduck if you think it will be dog-slow I best order 8GB asap then! I didnt add any Dell extras to my order due to the inflated prices although wombat's suggestion of £45 3yr support would have been a good idea in retrospect.

For business users! Or one for you one for your mate!

Not sure why, but for some reason the code only works when you change the quantity to 2.
However it will discount both. Try it and see!

didn't need the 7th computer in a house of 2 adults 1 baby and a child.... but ....ORDERED it!

I hope everybody is aware that TCB pays 9.09% cashback (only 6$ was mentioned for Quidco, I didn't check).

My gran loved this deal as she can't normally hear any of the other deals - so voted hot.

9.09% Just for Servers, no?

Yes, vostro is 2% with TCB

Woah - 2GB "unusable"...! Really? Windows 7 is actually quite RAM-efficient. It's Vista that was the problem and even that was functional enough at 2GB.

But it uses an integrated intel GMA graphics solution which shared the main memory and at 1600x900 it can use a good whack of that. Thing is look on ebay, people can't give away DDR3 ram at 2gb size these days.

I always look for the mac DDR3 ram as no PC bidders seem to bother bidding on them and you can regularly pick up 8 gb for under £15

great deal, ordered! thanks OP

i edited you post btw, the caps were hurting my eyes!

Great deal for this laptop. I just bought a 17" 4G RAM, 500GHD for £399. So this is a bargain really.

And the person who said 2 gig ram was too small is wrong. My other laptop is 2 gig and works perfectly running windows 7.

Nice find op!

is it worth upgrading to nvidia graphics card?

If you are using the laptop for gaming or graphics related, then yes.

I have a Vostro 3550 and the screen isn't great, bear in mind this is a business laptop so features based around multimedia (screen, speakers) will be lower quality than normal laptops.

It gives you the option to Customize, but doesn't let you change anything, what's the point of that?

Yup, they pay 9.09% on servers. But this isn't a server...
For this laptop, they'd pay 6.06%.

This is a cracking hot deal though (particularly with that screen resolution).
Voted hot !

(Surprised no one suggested going for the optional 32Gb USB memory key for an extra £122 !!!!)

I hope you guys aren't banking on it being portable oO

I think most folks buying a 17" laptop won't be expecting it to be that portable.
It's about half a kilo lighter than the XPS 17 I had for a few weeks and that was plenty light enough to carry around the house and sit on your lap.

Comes up as

Total excl. VAT VAT Rate Total incl. VAT
£279.00 20.00 % £334.80
Total Delivery Charge £20.00 20.00 % £24.00
Total Price £299.00 £358.80

After looking for a 17" laptop this is a great deal for the i3 2nd gen procesor shame about 2gb and 320 hd but great price for a new laptop. Ordered!

WHAT'S WRONG WITH CAPITALS???

It signifies "SHOUTING" rather than talking on the interwebnetwrk.

Also most are graffiti ridden, overpopulated, overpriced hell-holes.

No way this can be considered as a portable device, no matter what weight.
Anything with 17inch screen is a good and attractive looking desktop replacement when sitting on a desk.
Very uncomfortable when used on on sofa etc

Been looking out for a lappy. thanks
