should make it law that tv companies reveal lag/input delay on specs of there tvs.
i bought a LG tv which and it is impossible to game on(over 60ms response)
yet some sony tvs are as low as 16ms.

its vital for gaming

Don't judge everybody else by your poverty stricken standards. £900 is not a lot of money to lots of people (its probably a months saving for me), especially considering they are spending it on the one thing that their family will spend more time interacting with than anything else.

Hit of a strange question though, from somebody looking at spending up at £700 on a DSLR...?

Perhaps you need something that isn't intended to be a TV. Try, idk, a monitor or projector if you need the screen size. You can get 1080p projectors for this sort of money, just gotta hope they have no signal processing.

Only has a Dual Core Processor

Would rather wait for a quad core TV.

OR a £1000 for a bicycle?

Was about to buy this but having read the specs it seems it doesn't have Optical audio which I need for my sound-bar. All other TV's state audio output (optical) except this one. Does anybody have this who can confirm? Surely it has optical....surely!

i paid £2000 for my LG 60" plasma when they 1st came out, not even full hd or 3d - this is a steal - especially if u can get price match at john lewis with free warranty

Also wifi not inbuilt. You need a dongle. No active glasses....think I'll stick to the LED versions

it says it has a digital audio out on the page

Better off with the Samsung in my opinion for virtually the same price you get 3D glasses and wifi built in, and a better make.

Yes it says digital audio out. Not optical!

For gaming, don't bother with this TV as input lag is well to high.

I'm 33yrs old so grew out of gaming when I was 14 - the samsung plasma 60" seems a much better deal so will probably go for that. Mmmm damn it also doesn't say optical! Grrrrrr

Just buy a converter - tvcables.co.uk/cgi…tml
Takes coax to digital optical output, £12 and you are done.

A great deal but I won't buy an LG set again. Bought a 3D smart LG tv less than 2 years ago and they've just taken away the ability to use Lovefilm instant on it - one of the reasons we got it. Seems like either LG don't think people will still want their tv beyond two years or they don't believe they have a responsibility to their customers. Voted hot for the deal.

Just be careful with DirectTvs - I bought an LG 50" from there recently, and had no end of issues with their customer service department. Late delivery after specifically guaranteeing a delivery day (which meant I missed a day of work for nothing), refusing to refund Saturday delivery costs after the 2nd delivery date was missed, and ignoring all communications and complaints. Still awaiting refund for some missing bits. A warning to HUKD!

Those slating the input lag - is this from experience, or anecdotal? I'm tempted by this with Xbox One coming up, as my 50" Panasonic is a bit long in the tooth now, and only does 1080i. The 60PH660V looks decent on paper, and the info on AVForums seems to suggest the lag isn't especially bad.

Oh yeah, not keen on the Samsung - I've heard too many tales of problem displays to go Samsung

I bought this tv in July and it lasted a week before the panel failed with pixel lines appearing in the top left of the screen vertically down the screen, I got a full refund and am still looking at getting a new tv but don't think I would like another LG.

I have the 50" version and it does have optical audio out. I would imagine the electronics in both models are the same. Rest of the specs is bar the size.

Thanks for the input people. The Samsung is defo a better deal and even cheaper on Amazon - Samsung PS60F5500 60-inch Plasma Widescreen 1080p Full HD 3D Smart TV with Freeview/S Recommendation/Dual Core Processing/Wi-Fi
amazon.co.uk/dp/…NYM - I'm finding this much more tempting. What are people's opinions of Plasma vs LED. Obviously I've read all the stories but who actually has experience of owning a plasma. The Amazon one has amazing reviews but then someone pops up with "you can't see it in daylight!" Which is kind of pointless, but I doubt everybody would review it as fantastic if you could only watch it at night

I've got the 60" from last year (60PM680T).

It's fine for gaming when you turn all the picture processing nonsense off.

Quite tempted by this. Usual nonsense about plasma/input lag and 'I prefer Brand x'. LG make some really good TVs.

I have a Panny GT50 Plasma and with regards to the "you can't see it in daylight!" quote, on my tv (sat in a south facing bay window) there is a THX Bright Room setting which even counteracts sunlight pouring in. I would assume there is a similar 'bright setting' on the Samy.

fine and good for gaming are a long way apart
some sony/sammy are as low as 7-16ms which is roughly a frame,my LG is just over 60 which is about 5 frames.
thats a huge difference, even at 40 ms u talking 3 frames which online gaming would matter .
try plugging your console into a monitor the difference is very noticable.
