£9999 for an SE spec (RRP £17520)

Great deal IMO - I know they got slated in reviews but that was given the inflated RRP. At these prices they're much more attractive.

Engines are not efficient that's why they havent sold.

I was about to say this ^^ was genuinely tempted and then i saw the MPG figures, still, for 160bhp it isn't too bad

made in china aren't they ? , the interior is very cheap looking , saw some in MP Peterborough, didn't rate them

Magnette? what type of name is that?

Did they use Homer Simpsons clone to come up with a name like that?

The Homer would have been fine.......

The car is assembled in Loughborough, parts are from China though.

Previous Corsa deals make this half hearted attempt by a Chinese company to produce a decent car look frankly...daft!

Its an old MG name for their cars from the 30's & 50's,the Chinese are trying to associate these new cars with the MG heritage, which clearly is lost on people like you !

They're actually probably quite good fun to drive. The old Rover/MGs used to be.

Just checked autotrader. I'd get the 2008 BMW 7 series fully loaded. But hey maybe they make great quality in china

Yeah, launching it with just a petrol engine was never going to win them many customers.

At these prices though, it's a far more appealing prospect. That's a hell of a lot of car for the money.

Love the post from the idiot about the name Magnette. He might think twice before he open his gob. I only saw to old MG Magnettes in an old barn waiting to be restored. They looked very grand! Post above is right. A lot of car for the money. The MPG aint great though. That said 160 BHP is powerful. Horses for courses

I have been looking at them and I think its a lot of car for the money, However no dealers in the North East -(Anyone know any different)?

Bradford seems the closest dealer. But the beauty is unlike modern cars they are very easy to work on. Any good garage can service it and there are plenty of specialists about who know every inch of the K-Series engine. If your in the Newcastle area Lion Garage at Bedlinton is your local specialist.

So while it may be expensive on petrol it can be cost effective over all. At £16k you would have to be insane, but at £9k for a family size car that you can work on yourself seems a much better prospect if you intend on keeping it a long time.

I owned one of the original MG Magnettes nice car in it's time

Good for you.

No point comparing a brand new car against a 5 year old car.

This car looks SHOCKING.

Loughborough oO

Surely you mean Longbridge

Lol 36 for a 160bhp car. The s3 I'm looking at is 41mpg but gas almost twice the power

S3, 41mpg, LOL. You really shouldn't believe everything the Audi salesmen tell you!!!

only 4 star in crash tests, dont have a crash in one !

"there was insufficient pressure in the airbag to prevent the driver's head from making contact, through the fabric of the airbag, with the rim of the steering wheel"

Quite a handsome car, that.

I'd be wary of the quality, though.

Such a pity what happened to MG Rover. If only BMW had held faith with them for a bit longer. The 75/MG ZT was already a fantastic car. They had the Rover R30 in the wings which was destined to replace the Rover 45/MG ZS; eventually it was reborn as the BMW 1 Series (despite the denials from BMW!).

These new cars are cheap, but they've just stuck an MG badge on something barely average to get a Chinese firm an entry to European markets. They don't give two hoots about MG's heritage.

Slightly pedantic but none of the listed prices are "over 50% off" as stated in the deal title

Mate of mine had a brand new tse, so many problems he gave it back to the finance company and got an xjr. Biggest regret of his life, he can't even say mg6 now

I would literally rather have hemaroids. sorry, but no.

is this the N series engine? (if it is it's essentially a k series -lots of specialists about and very possible to work on yourself)

I'll have the one that Jason Plato drives in the British Touring Car Championship

Look at the dodgy Chinese quality, only 2 wheels touch the ground for a start.

get me that for £10,000

You lot need to get a grip on reality, the MG6 is a fantastic car! I own a TSE model. I think you will find the contain a lot of UK sourced components - the wheels are cast In the UK, every nut and bolt is from the UK. The 6 was designed, engineered and is assembled in Longbridge, Birmingham.

The 6 hasn't sold in large numbers due to people's lack of knowledge. Reading comments on here has made me laugh at how little a lot of people really know and spout off like they know it all.

Reading your comment made me laugh that you bought a sh*t car and got upset with people slating it. Did you sign up just to post that comment.
