Very good price for a very good phone
Bit of an oldie like me, not much software support left (unsure in my case)

Still voted hot, this one made many fall (or stay) in love with Motorola

Read the user reviews, unless you can put lineage on it. The phone is unsupported by Moto in terms of software updates still on Android 8 and uses arm32 meaning doesn't support gcam arm64 mods etc

Still £147, if it were an 2019 release, and cost £400 I'd be worried, it isn't though, and was released almost 2 and a half year ago.

For the person I'm buying this for, she won't mind the fact it'll stay on android 8.1
I actually found the battery life on mine to be bloody awful! Clip on battery thing is a must and very very cool though.
Have moto/lenovo sorted their atrocious battery cells yet?

Returned my Moto Z as the battery life fell off a cliff haha, known issue on a large number of their handsets apparantly widely mentioned on the lenovo forums.

Argued Consumer rights and not fit for purpose, ended up with a full refund 14 month after purchase date
Got a JBL speaker and gamepad mod both boxed if anyone wants them on PM. Not free obviously

Have you read the reviews of the latest G7 Power?
According to Motorola should be upgraded to pie, maybe someone who has one could advise if this has happened.

Why people care beats me.

Unlike iphone android have launchers, icon packs, and apps to add that killer feature in the newest update, many phones have theme stores which get a new version added.

Again some people will cry about security patches but I really don't hear many stories about people losing money or data because there using a phone that is not up to date on security, lets be real be sensible and be careful of sources of APKS and not clicking download on anything on chrome and your be fine.... and if your not savvy enough to be be savvy then you won't be someone who is downloading things

Z was 2016, things improved substantially later, along with rest of industry - Z Play had very good battery life, even in 2016
It may have been initially released in 2016.Bought mine on an offer linked here back end of 2017 when it was £299.99
Unknown to me prior to me buying they were already having issues with the battery in the Z and other handsets from the time and Im pretty sure that from release to the back end of 2017 they would have manufactured more.

I was in the same boat as a lot of others, battery like randomly dropping big chunks, not charging properly, powering off as empty, but then turning on minutes later at 40%+ for no reason. That had mine back for repair, tried to charge me and after a little kerfuffle ended up sending mine back wiht a report fault lion, cell replaced. Only for the "brand new" cell to have the exact same problem much the same as being reported by many other users at the same time, Lenovos reply was that they weren't aware of any problems despite their own forum.

Don't get me wrong, was a cracking phone when I initially got it. I pointed out the deal at the time to 2 of my mates and one of them had the exact same problems with their phone and also ended up wiht a full refund, terrible QC from MOto/Lenovo and they should stick to computers.

I won't be spending any large chunks of money with Moto/Lenovo any time soon and after the difficulties I had with them I'd certainly advise anyone else purchasing to use a Credit Card for the s75 should you need it,

Ended up getting my refund late august last year and been using a P20Pro since wihtout a problem, battery is like night and day, I do't even have to keep a portable charge with me 24/7 anymore lol

If you truly love that person you would buy a moto g7 or a moto one :D, with current deals they are within the 150 price range

She likes the moto mods. I showed her the z2 play I had a while back and she wanted it, say the clip ons and fell in love, didn't want to spend too much, so this was a compromise.

I know what I'm buying when I get a phone, so don't worry about me, I'm all good.
Great price if it works.

I had a crazy amount of problems. The battery issues were crazy. When I first got it, I loved the phone. Once the issues started though.... I've had, and bought others, too many various Motorola phones in recent years that have battery issues. They were once my go to brand. Not any more.

Yep, agree, but not if you have someone who wants to buy the mods
Motorola replaced my Z with a Z2 Play under warranty and then repaired and returned my Z! I use the Z2 Play daily and have the Z as a backup. The Z2 Play is on 8.0.0 with security patch dated June 2019, which came through a little later. Battery life on Z2 Play is excellent at about 6 hours screen on time from a full charge, which is better than any of the iPhones in my household. Accubattery estimates battery health on mine at 91% after 476 charges, which is 2,734 mAh of an original 3,000. I am now looking at whether to buy a Z3/Play or Z4 in the coming months. I have several Moto Mods and not paid through the nose for any. A new projector was about £80, a used Hasselblad camera £63 and a gaming mod £10. I have two battery mods which were £55 for the pair. Wireless charging mod came with my Z2 Play and the JBL speaker with the Z. All extend the capability of the phone when travelling, and i want to keep using them for a good while longer. The overall experience of the Z range has been great for me and i'd recommend it to others.

@Mrswitch: no true love

I personally think true love would mean a G7 Plus
