  • Large battery

Part of the next era of mobile phone technology, the Honor View 20 is a powerful device which can offer a whole host of different services to a user. With a compelling camera and a chipset on par with the competition.

So, what's to say about Honor? They're a company which hasn't been around for all that long, and yet they have managed to provide a robust set of offerings which make it a strong competitor in the industry. Their new device is ready to impress, and their consideration for the user experience is commendable. While they may be a rising star in the world of smartphones, there's no doubt that this company is one to keep an eye on, and if you wanted evidence look no further than the Honor View 20.

Honor View 20 Design and Display

From a visual perspective, there's no doubt that this is a sleek and illustrious model. The curved edges and smooth contours of the device mean that no matter what, you've got access to something which looks good and has some pretty impressive specifications to back it up. The LCD and 6.4-inch screen mean that it is more than capable of showing you all of your favourite content, and it has an impressive resolution of 2130 x 1080 pixels. Everything that the View 20 does, it does in full HD, so you can be sure that quality is assured from start to finish. With over 16 million colours being renderable, and a smooth display that doesn't suffer from performance issues, you know that you are getting an excellent device which will keep on giving you the most it can provide from start to finish. The idea behind this phone was to see what was previously impossible, a task in which they've succeeded.

Moving onto the basic dimensions of the phone, this is very much like a lot of modern models in the sense that it is streamlined and relatively compact. Coming in at around 6 x 3 inches, this is a phone which isn't going to be especially cumbersome and will instead be nicely compact. As colours go, it is only available in Midnight Black, but that subtle look does well here, lending a touch of class and sophistication to the phone. There are both front and rear facing cameras to utilise, and we'll talk more about those in a moment, but suffice it to say the cameras do not impact the sleek design in any way, and you can still appreciate the curves. There's also a headphone jack, so the option is available for you to explore.

The rear of the phone is as pretty as the front and is made from sturdy material to ensure a long lifespan. What you will come to find is that the camera does not stick out in any way, and the Midnight Black colouring works wonders when you are admiring the contours and aesthetics of the phone. As a colour choice, it does work - something too loud or grand might well offset the quiet brilliance which this phone excludes.

Honour View 20 Audio

So, the audio is pretty much what you would expect from a new smartphone which is on par with a lot of the competition. It's consistently good, and offers a high level of audio playback on a selection of different devices, whether this is music or something like a video. There is a headphone jack too, as Honor have gone against the grain in this regard and catered to the still high number of people who can not bear to be without wired headphones. However, a wireless option is naturally available for anyone who wants it.

Honour View 20 Camera

The camera is one of the most impressive features of the entire model, and so it does warrant a proper investigation and review. What you've got is a considerable 48MP camera which gives the best experience possible. Thanks to the power of the chipset, every shot is in stunning quality. Every photo, no matter what light conditions or distance, is in full detail and there is no accidental blur. Thanks to the Artificial Image Stabilisation, and the 4-in-1 Superpixels, there's no worry about getting the best night shots available. Something else of note is the 3D shaping, which separates the person from the background for the smoothest shots possible.

Honour View 20 Features and Performance

Okay, let's take a look at the features of this powerful little phone. What we've got here, in essence, is the Kirin 980 CPU, which many will recognise as being one of the best chipsets available on the market right now. It means that the phone can do as well as it wants without having to worry about lag or slowed responses. You've also got access to the Balong 5000 Multi-Mode system, which provides you with all that you could need regarding coverage in 2G, 3G, 4G, and even 5G when it becomes available to the public. It means that no matter where you are, you can get the signal that you need. It's a dual SIM so that you can slot in another card for storage purposes, and runs on the Android 9 Pie system for best results.

There's 128GB of memory available here, but you can supplement this with a selection of different options. There's also a compelling charging system, which gives you all the battery power you could need along with quick recharge time.

Had so much fun with an IR blaster. In the pub and footy was on... penalties was about to happen... player ran up to boot the ball and I turned the tv off people were screaming. Done it again and again... then when I left the pub at night... I quickly turned it onto the porn channel as I went outside lol

Upfront cost showing at £349.99 inc VAT? Anything else needed to do to drop it to £330 or has the price changed already?

Edit: Price is back to £330 since I originally posted, but for a while it was showing up at £349 the other day

Why do you prefer LCD?
Honestly can't tell the difference. Had an S8 before this.

I find the colours too strong on amoled and it gave me headaches. I googled it the other day and I'm certainly not alone. Unfortunately for me it looks like they're all going to be amoled soon aswell!

Ahh okay I get you! I actually had the opposite with LCD Easier on the eyes for me and minimal ghosting making me feel sick
Nice phone at this price
Had one since February, excellent phone. Paid just under £500 from Amazon then (£350 now) , no regrets.

At this price I wouldn't hesitate in recommending
Fantastic price for a full featured phone, plays pubg like a dream without overheating and the 4 lens camera takes some really amazing photos even in low light conditions. Ultra fast charger.

I have this phone and think it's great. Had a Samsung s8 before this and was shocked at the difference between them, this one being miles better than the s8.
Just ordered it for my miss, specs are good, brand new... Will see what attached tomorrow
Looking at this phone. Available here for less but no idea about the site csmobiles.com/gb/…BwE

I have this phone and it's certainly worth this, although ine is the 8/256GB variant I'm sure it'll perform just as well.

I also upgraded from an S8 and the difference in speed, and ease of use amazingly is just incredible. Better call quality and UI too.
I didn't know when i bough this but it comes with a fortnight skin, i manged to sell it for 70 quid!
Honor 9 has and "Eye Comfort" mode which takes the edge off. Had it nearly two years and it has been a great phone
Had the Honor 9 and have the Honor 10; both great phones and would buy another at a drop based on experience.

Same with the View 20.

Cracking phone for the price. For reference:

Mate 20 pro is currently 500 on Amazon.
P30 Pro is 510 on o2 refresh.

Thanks. Ordered
Great deal OP 👌🏻
Got this on o2 refresh a couple of weeks back. Second time I've purchased it. Really impressed with the punchy screen, speedy processor and 2 day battery life not to mention the super fast charging speeds.. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend 😁
This phone is a beast but if you make alot of phone calls you may want to look elsewhere.
Everytime you hold the phone to your ear to talk, the proximity sensor is pointing at the wrong angle and the screen always flashes on and off.
So many times I have been on the phone and turned the torch on, turned off Bluetooth and WiFi etc.
One time I was speaking to someone and without knowing I was calling someone else only for him to answer and both of us where like errr wtf you call me for

Lots of people online have the same problem too so it's not an isolated fault which is a real shame because it's a beast 😞

I liked this phone a lot but it can feel a bit cheap, but at this price...
Is it ok to buy these phones as Google wont support
bought a honor 8x a few days ago, superb phone

When will people move on ? It's been a few years since this aging port started to disappear.

I remember my grandfathers VHS. It came with a remote that was connected via a 4 meter cable that was laid across his carpet.

I don't remember anyone moaning when that was replaced by a wireless remote.
