That is a good deal!

Rick

You had better be living in Fort Knox to store this, otherwise you should keep the insurance claims phone number handy for when you step outside your front door to drive to work.....

Not sure its so attractive as old scoobies but I bet the insurers still think so!

I had the last model WRX, lived in Croydon, had a tracker and disklok and never had any problems (mind you the last model wasnt the most attractive with bug eyes)

so this is where all the car deals are coming from...

I remember when Subaru's used to be cool.

Still a lot of car for the money. HOT!

5 speed manual gearbox? how is that enough for the 2.5 engine with 230PS?

How can subaru go backwards and most other car manufacturers forwards ? I had 2001 5 door WRX - and it felt so safe on the road - tremendous car. Looking at the reviews on this one you are better of with the older cars....

still good deal for this model

By very limited numbers they must mean only one available right? Because that is a steal..

motorpoint have 5 at the same price for sale

I have bought 2 cars from this seller.

First time he sent the wrong details to DVLA and the car we had bought was different to what the log book said but got it sorted in the end.

Second time, well you could say i should of learnt my lesson the first time but the problem wasnt so big and I never had many problems with the car.
The second car was advertised UK spec & NON FAP. When i collected the car i mentioned to Mark that it appeared to be a FAP model, he assured me that it wasnt and told me to ring if i had a problem.

I took the car to my local dealler who confirmed it was indeed a FAP model and NOT UK SPEC.

Rang Mark back not intrested in any form of customer satisfaction or customer relations.

Be very careful before you part with any money as it may not be the bargain which is described to you.

Depends on the gearing, having 6 gears isn't always better. so long as the ratios make the most of the power available it won't really matter.

Why not?
My scooby has 330bhp with only the std five speed box. Copes with the additional power no problem so I'm sure it can handle 100bhp less!

true, i guess to get all the torque out of the engine, i should think it's not about top speed but acceleration...i would love to see it in action...can anyone take me for a ride? :-D

Clicked on the link and the first picture shown is of an STI (Wide arches), so misleading cause its a much better looking car.

The best looking Subaru was the 22b, my brother had one many years ago, and oddly its probably worth more today

Anyway an sti :

And why Subaru are having problems :

I'd be very surprised if this was a British car, sounds like an import to me.

nice msn link with some good cars on there, also not a bad subaru!

If you don't fancy the WRX version then the 2.0R version is available from ]Motorpoint for £10699

This deal is HOT. OK its ugly, but you cant compare it to something like an astra or focus for similar money. You are getting some serious hardware with this car like 4wd, turbo etc. I dont see any odds if its a Euro or UK spec - I doubt there is a difference and its not like getting a Jap import which bumps the insurance premium up.

I would say this deal is perfect for someone who has a company car cash allowance and a fuel card. :-)

He will not deny its an import but will tell you that its full UK SPEC.

Do your homework and get the UK SPEC and compare as most customers will find that comment not so true. Also check with your main dealer as some manufactures have got wise to this now and no longer support 3 years uk warranty.

Cant comment on Subaru but know for sure that vauxhall dont warrant linear imports anymore.

Still a good price though but im afriad I would use the price to get the official dealers down to near that price and have peace of mind.

Thought the last model had 'blob' eyes ('bug' eyes was model before that???)

Utter bargain, that is alot of car for the money. I mean a fiesta ST is more than that.

Pretty reliable cars too, well made, drive well etc.

Yeah, I'm more worried about the 2 year warranty and having to pay extra for more, then the fact that not many garages will touch imported cars as you say. I'm waiting for the 09 Golf GTI and saw it for £16299 on that site as a pre-order, I nearly wet myself until I found out it was am import, oh well, almost too good to be true. Gonna pop along to my VW dealer to see how much they will take off it, I very much doubt anything to be honest. Might have to wait it out and try and get an order cancellation a little cheaper. My max budget is £20k

Great price compared to RRP. But considering the re-design has turned a previously gorgeous design classic into the bulbous-arsed offspring of a Megane and an Astra, it's no surprise they can't shift 'em

Scoobynetter are we mate??

Voted hot, but there is no denying that Subaru has made a HUGE mistake with this car...They have always said that Subarus have always been about performance and function before form but i think even die hard Scooby fans will turn away in disgust...It looks like a 90's Deawoo with a body kit....I've also seen one (The only one i've seen on the road too!!!) driving by in the Toys R store car park and it doesn't look any better in the metal... Not taking anything away from the deal though, I just don't like the car, great find!

I have to agree fully with this comment...I bought a MX-5 brand new from Belgium, full UK spec, and had all the problems with all the above and what's more it was harder to sell because I had to tell them it was an import...I eventually sold it to an import car speciallist showroom for a lot less money, therefore the money I saved buying it import was lost in the sale...You live n learn...

hehe had to reply on this to give my username some credit....

Recycled Eurotrash and its ugly as hell, get a Hawkeye or Bugeye or even better the best looking a classic Sti....

I am a big fan of the boxer flat four engine but I wouldnt touch the new one, I would rather buy an Evo then that peice of **** that looks like a Daewoo with a bonnet vent...What have they done to the scoobys tut tut !!!!

Even better and sensible a Civic Type R (2008)...

My sister used to have the classic STI WRX (Circa 2000), now that was a real car...Still keep thinking I would buy one, one of these days...

Avoid grey imports! You will have problems with the warranty, with insurance, with parts and with resale values. The extent of the problems will vary from one model to another and you wont find out how bad it is until you've owned it for a while. This car being pug ugly wont help either.

Ah, it's a car! Otherwise known as a tax generator.
