I've heard from folks older than me that they long creased to be as good as they were, however I thought they were merged into the same group as Berghaus, which was when they went downhill?

If you Google Brasher Hillmaster. It takes you to Berghaus Hillmaster. Brasher still sell under their brand name but their best boots Berghaus stuck their name on & I have to say they've been excellent.
