err, they're definitely not the best boot out. They are good, but not great. For that you need Meindl or Asolo
so are these any good then?

Yes, they are good and what you'd reasonably expect from a £120 boot, i.e. dry feet, reasonable comfort, hard wearing.

However, it's all relative. If you're a hardcore walker, regularly up and down the Tor's in Dartmoor or the Mountains in Snowdon, you'd be better off spending £180+ on some boots better suited to the task.

The vast majority of people buying these boots and saying they've lasted 3+ years are casual weekend walkers who from time to time put them on for a nice New Forest stroll in nice weather etc etc.

I am a fairly hobbyist walker who does 20-30 mile walks at weekends as well as 3 miles a day walking the dog. My last pair of Brashers lasted 8 months before the sole split and came away from the base. My current pair of Meindl's have had the leather split in <1yr due to daily use in wet weather.

I've bought these but for my type of use, I'd be happy if they even lasted 2 years.
just bought a pair, i dont do much walking but wouldnt mind a comfy pair when i do.

The shank is not very stiff so they tend to crease across the boot and let water in . This happened with three pairs I had. I tried to get them replaced by Brasher as I got through three pairs in less than two years doing about three miles every day dog walking. They wouldn't help as they said the boot was leaking at the point where my big toe wore the inside.
I have still ordered a pair at £49 though - because they are sooooo comfortable. If they last a year or two I'll be reasonably happy.
these aren't the £49 boots, that's the Hillwalker, these are the Hillmaster
Any body having bother getting boots posted to northern ireland,i tried to purchase boots told not my area.
