Brass PADLOCK 20MM £0.20 at screwfix (free C&C)

Found 27th Mar 2017
I was looking for some small and cheap padlocks for my holiday suitcases. I wanted cheap ones because I always loose the keys or the padlocks themselves after every holiday...
And found these at screwfix for 20p each which will do the job.
I actually bought 20 of them for £4 so will last me few years

Good point! But there's 500 stores around the country though
If this is for a zip on a suitcase you are wasting your time - especially with a plastic zip. You can push something like a biro through the zip and open the case. After rummaging for valuables the case is rezipped by simply moving the zipper around the case and back to the starting point.

Buy some sort of strap that can crisscross the case and has a lock on it.
Nice find
8 for a £ in Poundland.
Keys probably are loose on these. Seems like a superfluous item especially given the description, " I was looking for some small and cheap padlocks for my holiday suitcases. I wanted cheap ones because I always loose the keys or the padlocks themselves after every holiday..."

The implication is that these are such gak that you can simply force them. If so, what's the point?

Rarely your case will get lost and even rarer that it will get pilfered from. And I have been to some dodgy places!

Then again I'm not moronic enough to leave things of high value in mine...

Wouldn't want to loose it
Padlock on a suitcase shows you have something valuable inside. There the first ones to get damaged with items missing

I agree, but the new laptop/tablet rules will make pilfering from suitcases more attractive in some locations (not that these padlocks will do anything to stop it).

+1 on this, locks are generally useless on cases. Mind you lots of people don't know this biro trick either, despite it being all over YouTube.

Thank God for that!

I had an old tablet and all my expensive lotions and potions in my bag recently. Actually saw my bag removed and thrown violently about. Nothing was damaged or nicked but I did pack it sensibly.

Like most insurance, WE are generally paying for fraudsters that realise they can get away with it.

I just pack stuff in my hold luggage that, whilst it would be annoying and inconvenient to lose, it's not going to wreck my holiday!!

Always take too much stuff anyway!!
