My first deal, So sorry if already posted.

If you sign up to RAC Roadside breakdown cover through Quidco it will only cost you £8 for the entire year, Thanks to the cashback you receive once it has been processed.

Great thing that you can pay for it on a monthly term too!!

Great deal and a good time to have it too with the cold weather.

good post, was going to buy cover with them yesterday, but glad i waited, i completely forgot Quidco!! happy days, Heat added

This will only work if your car is less than 10 years old...mine isn't

What a con if you add the "At home" option it goes up from £28 to £73 :-(

Also if you do 2 vehicles it goes up to £61. So is cheaper to get two separate covers.

Good price if you do not need Home start, but I do so not great for me.

ALSO, this is in the terms:

Due to the current Free At Home offer, cashback is not available on personal based Roadside, Recovery + At Home or Roadside, Recovery, Onward Travel + At Home.

BEWARE , look at reviews for RAC on Quidco/Topcasbackh. This is the worse company to get cashback from . I had £40 due and it was a total nightmare, took about 6 months of a lot of chasing up (ringing people). I beliveve that it was Topcashback that were hanging onto the money.

took out two policy about 2 years ago , never recieved any cashback from quidco ,although it was traced . rac not good payers

Thanks OP. Have gone for this

Looks like you pay a lot more if you go with the monthly option...

Not a good quidco payout it was £20 cashback for ages not £8

EDIT, Title misled me thought it was only £8 quidco

Quidco didn't pay out for me and when I lodged a ticket, it was turned down. Do NOT go for this deal if you are relying on Quidco to make it affordable.

I did this last year, got the cashback no problem. I thought you weren't allowed to post if the saving comes from cashback as it's not guaranteed?

When I do the basic quote on the RAC site it says £38?

I've tried all the major breakdown services and RAC were by far the worst in my experiences. AA were only just better, but still bad. Green Flag however have always been spot on - worth paying the extra.

Having said that I'm not renewing my Green Flag as I am going to give Insurance Choice a crack this year (altho no cashback).

Yep, the OP needs to change the price to £28...

The deal is £28 not £8 as quidco is far from guaranteed as stated above in post 9, also op states monthly payments are excepted correct but you get no quidco with monthly payments.

I did this about 3 months ago, and although quidco stated it would be £20 cashback it tracked and validated at £23, so my breakdown cover only cost a fiver for the year.
If you don't have much faith in RAC paying out, the AA will pay £19 for the basic entry level policy (same as this).

RAC paid out my £40 no issues with quidco.

I never got the cashback a few years ago either.

Got this last year, didnt track with quidco. Eventually got cash back 8 months later

Just took this out today, before embarking on a 2hr drive to Birmingham in -6 degrees. Got tracking Quidco email soon after.

Got there ok, but would have been sods law if I'd ignored this post, I'd have broken down.

I just signed up with AutoAid - giving the insurance method a try.

As long as I am always armed with a credit card while driving it seems like the best option by far with full cover for only £37 and great reviews.

Also OP, ya can't include Quidco in the main price as it is FAR from guaranteed

Note on the Quidco conditions:

Cashback is only available for annual payers (monthly payments are … Cashback is only available for annual payers (monthly payments are excluded from this offer). The Quidco cashback is offered and paid by Quidco, not RAC. This offer is eligible on tracked transactions reported and validated by RAC.

TCB paid out £20 for me, it just took months.

If you look at feedback for them on topcashback, a lot of people are not that lucky and never get the cashback so if you don't mind not possibly getting it then it is fine.

tracked on quidco within 12 hours~!

We are with Autoaid. Have been for years.

Both wife and myself, any car (also includes older cars) . Home start, onward travel, hotel, hire car etc. included. £39 per year.

RAC and AA are pants!

Signed up for the £28 cover anyway, be a bonus if i get the £20 cashback. Thanks OP
