After some horrific experiences with both A.A. & R.A.C. breakdown, I was looking elsewhere. I came across Rescue My Car on Money Saving Expert.I have been using them for 3 years now & would certainly recommend them. We have the National with home cover & the personal cover so we are covered for breakdown when driving any vehicle as well as the excess waiver. We also have joint cover for my husband & I & it covers both vehicles - they take the age of the newest car only to work out the premium too which is a bonus. Please note that if you want joint cover you will need to call them up as it is not avaliable online. Our cover for the both of us & all vehicles which is very comprehensive costs us £73.90 per year, but basic cover is an option from just £17.90 too. Have a little play with the easy online quote system to see what you need & what it will cost you. Please note that they do not cover you for running out of fuel, mis-fueling or lost/stolen/broken/damaged keys - this is fairlystandard for most breakdown policies. Think they also exclude accidents too, but your car insurance policy normally covers that. Hope this helps some of you hot dealers out there!

I've been with them previously and had terrible customer service so moved to AA, which has been great.

Yes i'm with Alcoholics Anonymous as well, hic
Used them, wouldnt touch them they charge per call out just google them on review center they have worse service AVOID!
I was gonna go with these guys a few weeks back. Really bad reviews left for them. Wouldn't go with them myself.
May I say that the Green Flag Full Monty with Quidco at £60 less £50 cashback making a one year cover £10 seems a better deal.
I was with the RAC for years, never had a problem with them and the price seemed quite reasonable. Free AA cover now with my bank account. The AA have also been very good. If these people have had a few bad customer reviews; I wouldn't take the gamble to save a few £s. Well worth paying less than £1 a week for peace of mind, home start, onward travel, replacement vehicle etc.

Cykb, they do not charge per call out, you can opt to pay a £40 excess, but you can also opt for a policy with no excess as we do.

Ciderlord, I have had awful experiences with RAC when one occassion I waited about 3.5 hours & they never turned up despite repeated promises thst they were "on their way", eventually the police arranged a local recovery garage for me which turned up in less than 30 mins. Finally found out that the driver had never been despatched by RAC as they were still waiting for authorisation from head office to use independent as no driver covering the area! Another time they refused to attend, claiming I had no cover. Had to call out AA then. Later eventually got an apology from them, but no refund on AA costs - I had got cover, they had just not passed on my details & put them on their system! Would not touch AA with a barge pole. Know of many people who have had awful experiences with them inc myself when they cancelled my insurance policy & failed to tell me, all because they had lost my proof of no claims, despite them being sent it twice!

I did a quote for the Green Flag cover and it came up £96... making it £46 even after the £50 cashback.
Would not use again try this 1999 car personal European cover £ 134.99 with home start £ 134.99 bought this product , needed them at my home they said I was not coved How can this be I paid them £ 134.99 they would not come out you have been warned !
I certainly will not recommend this bogus company to anyone. I took out a cover from this year ask thought they were cheaper than Rac, AA, GREENFLAG. but it's a complete scam. I ahve here for over 6 hours waiting for a recovery vehicle from them to turn up. They took out £40 from me or else they won't help and yet still sitting here in my car. I will cancel this policy. Better off without a cover from them. I broke at 10:30pm and called them and it's now 5:15am early with no sign of anyone turning up, please nobody should take out a cover from these people. They are just scam.

The £40 will be your policy excess as you obviously did not choose to take out the excess waiver. It is a disgrace that no recovery vehicle came to your aid. Unfortunately all too familiar with all the major recovery companies as my brother will tell you. He has been left stranded al night on a few occassions by RAC, AA & Greenflag. These experiences are all totally unacceptable, but the company itself is certainly not a scam, just totally failed you on this occassion.
What a waste of money i had a flat battery and was told we had to pay £40 for them to come out the operater was very rude and not helpful when i told him that i hadn't got the money he asked if i could find someone else to pay. We where stuck at a juction and double yellows and thats where he left us because he put the phone down so going to the aa or rac a reputable company not this shambles
