Breakdown Cover - Start Rescue, from £17.79 with 15.75% TCB

My breakdown cover with AA came to an end, and i was paying about £150. Then i went to renew, and they decided to charge me £260!! Anyways, did a bit of research and found these guys.

Now, not only do they have AMAZING reviews for their price, but their service is also brilliant. They even have an App which you can report your breakdown on and they call you within 5 minutes and have someone sent out to you.

Its not fair to compare this deal to the AA one, as the AA had more features to it, so to make it fair, if you add Homestart and Nationwide, it is only £11 more. And if you add parts and labour it comes to about £80.

So its fair to say that £80 vs AA's £260 is a huge saving. And its not cheap price = cheap quality, the reviews do mention that they have amazing service aswell as a good price.

To clarify, the cheapest cover you can take which does not include Homestart and Nationwide is 17.79. Add the cashback and you are paying £15.12

There really good and they have a smart phone app that you can use if you break down.

Start rescue are fantastic.

Dito on AutoAid, they say its pay and reclaim but last time I had to use them the guy didn't even charge me.

Many thanks.

Got a bee in my bonnet about TCB. Topcashback didn't pay out for me on legitimate claim. I kept chasing them, it took them so long that the retailer had binned TCB and the payment was declined. I've also binned TCP and will stick to Quidco irrespective of the extra 0.01% TCB "extra"

It's all a gamble. Just pay for a recovery service when you need it and you'll be no worse if not better off.

And a one time recovery will cost this much if not more.

I've been with them for two years and have used them 4 times! They are fantastic and have never had a problem. They give you a couple of calls first to let you know expected time of arrival and to check if they have arrived. I think I pay about £35 a year and that includes nationwide recovery and homestart!

Thanks OP

We've been with them for about 5years and the price is brilliant, we have only had to use them once but the service was good and I would recommend them.

If your car or van and as made before 2007 then there is no cover. bit PISH if u ask me

what if you add someone to the cover as personal? can they then use it on a campervan?

" Premiums displayed are for cars aged 5 years old or under. "oO

Where did you see that? Are you sure you are not referring to parts and labour cover which is separate?

It specifically asks for the age of the car and then gives a quote accordingly, so i find that hard to believe.

Sorry, we were not able to provide cover for that vehicle because
- the vehicles LENGTH exceeds the maximum permitted.

thanks was about to renew with green flag for £64.66, this cost me £35.45 for same cover

Excellent service from these guys. Follow up phone calls to check all went ok and if there was anything else they could do. Can't rate them enought :-)
