Thats what i ment;-) It was good when you could buy the £5.00 sim with £10.00 credit on it, and then ping the credit to your existing sim:thumbsup:

Yeah and remember you get what you pay for. Rope would probably snap, your car would end up in even more bother... for everything else there's mastercard  save yourself the hassle, keep your money in your pocket

So the tow rope would not be affected by our british stadards or EU standards

Get a grip, stop preaching **** and no you cant buy jump leads or tow ropes in poundland.

For most people this is a good deal, why spend £20 quid on jump leads and £10 quid on a tow rope just to have it sat in the boot just in case. for most this is more tha adequate.

Good deal, but for a few extra quid a basic breakdown cover makes more sense.

Yes you can buy jump leads and a tow ropes in pound land (well SkegVegas!), although I wouldn't be sure if I would trust them lol

Anyone like to take a guess on the length of the tow rope....I hope the guy being pulled has good brakes cos I wouldnt fancy being the guy in front!

Oh and yes you could put that lot together in Poundland for under £8, and get the same poor level of qualtiy also. You get what you pay for here and quite honestly if you want to get into towing or being towed use basic quality materials at your peril, there are just some things you dont spare the cost on if you value your safety.

Exactly, that's why you can be sure with this Tesco product, the rope will be fine for towing vehicles up to 2 tonnes

bit stupid to compare a breakdown kit to breakdown cover. The kit will last you years. The breakdown cover 1 year so big difference in money.

No chance. give me photographic evidence you can get a tow rope for £1 and jump leads for £1.

Come on stop being a hard man and picking arguements/debates over the internet. You know full well you cant get a tow rope for 1 quid.

If you guys wana spend on top quality parts for 'your safety' then go ahead go spend £100... For me £8 is a complete and utter bargain even if i need the leads once in 3 years its money WELL spent. If you know you breakdown 10 times a year however in your 1.0 nova then yes go buy quality products that will last.

Jump leads and a towrope are useless on a motorway.
A towrope is useless if you break down a good few miles away from home.
Gloves and torch are just fillers.
This should be called a towrope and jumpleads + 2 pieces of CPAP in a bag.

Don't show off your inexperience, where possible the towed car breaks, not the towing car.

whole package is a filler to me. For the Sake of 8 quid could save you £100's. I would happily spend the 8 quid as some very cheap reassurance or even to help a friend in need.
Lets face it if were gonna buy a DECENT torch for say £10 were not gona keep it in the boot of the car just in case are we? Whole package including the bits of **** are worth it.:santa:

You will have to forgive me but to be honest I am less than inclined to spend my time proving to you that the local Poundshop stocks tow ropes!

No one is trying to be a hard man and certainly not attempting to pick an argument......just giving an opinion which I think is the general principle here. Attention to safety is inherent and paramount in my occupation (if I want to live long enough to cash in my pension that is!) so lets just call it a natural inclination for me to shy away from this sort of cheap kit.

I am fortunate and thankful to have the means to drive something rather better than a 1.0 Nova so the need or the desire to carry this equipment is negated anyway, so please lets try and leave it at that

Well maybe your right, it would be true to say I have never towed or been towed and am never likely to (hopefully), still I would imagine at some point in the proceedings the guy in front will have to use his brakes for whatever reason.....and it still looks a very short rope to me for that sort of activity!

You can have a long rope on the road  What would happen for instance a motorbike went to overtake the rear car and tried to pull in to the nice big gap.....

Tow ropes have to be of a standard lengh. Tow ropes are not designed for hawling cars for miles, more just to get them out the way, a local move, or just to pull you out of the mud when your stuck, for everything else there is a solid bar, frame or a flat bed.
