ye examples of top breakdowns but they are also the parts that would be covered. i spoke to one of them on the phone and was told that all major parts are covered, i know that wheels are not covered

From £340 a year?!

:w00t: COLD! Green flag is around £50 a year for the same thing

COLD. Very cold. Nonsense and expensive. Typically AA.

yeah but aa and green flag dont cover the cost of the repair just tow you to the nearest/dearest garage dont they?

The cost
For the year: either £67 or £90

Per month: £6.49 or £8.49

As well as the type of vehicle, the higher price applies based on:

your vehicle's age (10 years or more)

or the mileage (over 100,000 miles)

Per Week??? This seems terrible!

I have a smiliar thing through Vauxhall which I took on when I bought a new car (but I know they do it for second hand cars which are Network Q approved- all be it at a slightly higher price) it costs me £15/month and covers aeverything apart from Tyres and Exhausts even down to the wiper blades! It also includes 1 service per year, and breakdown cover, so in my opinion is much better value than the one offered by the AA here. My girlfried also has a similar service and breakdown plan on her Toyota (this time through Toyota) so therefore I would advise people to get in contact with their vehicle manufacturer if looking for something like this - they tend to be a lot cheaper

wow that's good as it cost roughly £100 for a service anyway x x

I am with the aa and used to have this cover until I read the smallprint of what it doesn't cover it's very confusing so i cancelled it as it was costing nearly £60 a year. For example Electrical system, all parts are covered including vehicle starter batteries OTHER THAN sun roof motors and mechanisms, folding roof motors and mechanisms (electrical and mechanical), ignition lock and barrel, lamps, bulbs, faulty connections, speedometer and odometer. Basically this will only apply if your car beaks down and the aa guy can't fix it, and it has to have a fault which is listed in the covered section. But as I say you read through what is covered and a lot of it is OTHER THAN so that's why I cancelled. Hope this makes some sort of sense.

I would suggest in that case you tell us why it is a hot deal? :-(

this offer is not just like ordinary breakdown cover, its more like a warranty cover on most of the car parts for just over £24 a month

You miss my point, I know that.

Nothing new about car warranties of this sort... in fact they are a lot less common now than years ago, probably because they were always so poor and people bought them less and less as they became aware of the poor value on the likes of "That's Life" & other consumer programmes!

What's so special about it, a lot of companies do it too - on face value, it is a lot of money, for cover that covers very little, with a list of exclusions as long as your arm! The AA are not shouting about it as being any sport of "special" deal, it is their ordinary everyday price!

Some hot deals are obvious, some less so, and need a bit of clarifying, but this just looks very bog-standard.

Like I say, why is this a hot deal?

warranties like this have been around for years most are a scam wait till you need to claim and they tell you sorry thats just ware and tear not covered,

It might help if the heading was correct on this , it's not £6.49 per week, it's £6.49 per month and actually it's not bad value when you think they'll pay for pretty much any garage repair (up to £500 per claim) after breaking down.

I was with Rac they rip me off, and they said it's wear and tear, They didnt wanted to pay anything, that's ****

Hell tariq69 5 years later.lol

i joined rac last month at the weekend my head gasket went they paid for repair with no hassles
