but it’s inferior 🤭

You clearly don’t know who you’re talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not inferior mode_101, I am the ferior. VHS becomes obsolete after being outsold by the succeeding format and you think that of me? No! I am the one who outsells!

Afaik they now redeem on google play, however from others who migrated their UV library to Google Play, some of the episodes did not migrate. Therefore it is likely that not all the episodes will be available when the digital code is redeemed

just because DVD sells more doesn’t make it better, it’s proven that DVD is inferior to Blu-ray in quality...it’s likely the price point that makes it sell more and the fact that a lot of people don’t seem to care about the quality. Cassettes and vinyl outsold CDs in the mid to late 80s even though they are inferior to CDs (although that is probably debatable with vinyl).

Rewatching at the moment for the 3rd time, even though I got the bluray, still using Netflix, just so much easier and quicker.

All of mine transferred I think, it transferred seasons 1/2/3/5 as seasons and season 4 as episodes and I’ll have to check to be 100% sure but it seemed to be.

I recently bought the Bates Motel Season 1-3 boxset and the digital codes were expired, so possibly these will be expired too. Probably the only way to know is to find out yourself, unfortunately. Unless anyone else here buys this set and gives it a go.

No - surprisingly, or at least in the HMV's I've seen it in DVD & Blu-Ray are the same price.

Will probably look better on Netflix over BluRay as it's on Netflix in 4K (assuming you have a 4K TV)

nah can't afford it, don't even pay for Netflix, sister shares an account with my Dad but he never uses it. I switch between my PC at lunch to watch stuff (usually Dexter at lunch as got my VPN on) then for the evening via my xbox
I find DVD vs Blu arguments simply tedious as hell. Lots of people (my dad for example) still watch DVDs and don't worship a large HD monolith TV as their sole reason for existence every evening. Heck, I have a full HD projector with a 3.5 meter wide screen, but I sometimes still happily watch a DVD on a smaller TV.

As a deal, this is superb. Five seasons of an insanely good show that endlessly rewards repeat watches, with a bunch of extras. For the cost of 2-3 pints, what a great quantity of quality TV. I remember buying "Twins" on VHS once for £11.99.

The big advantage of DVDs is better sound balancing.

With most Blu Rays I find there's a big difference in volume between speech and music/sound effects, basically if you set the volume at a level where you can clearly here the dialogue music and effects are way to loud. You don't tend to get that problem with DVDs.

I think the reasons is Blu Rays are optimised for proper 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound where you have a seperate sound channel predominantly for dialogue, great for the 1% of people who have home cinema systems, tough luck for the rest of us.

Therefore, this my friend, is the deal for you. Great show!

I remember buying Blade Runner and Dirty Harry on DVD when they first came out for the bargain price of £30 each. Horrible cardboard clip cases as well. Justified spending the cost by the thought it would be the last upgrade of those films I would ever buy. Oh well... you live and learn.
