Really good. I've not finished it all but I've done the main DLC Quest, ex champions song

Is it better than the mini story of the main game?

It's related to the main story, it's within the story itself. Not a standalone different scenario or anything. Think of it as adding extra shrines and quests.

Its a good addition to the story and I would say really fun. It is worth buying for the gameplay in my opinion. There are extra shrines, challenges and a new (pretty epic) boss fight. This is followed by an amazing bonus slate ability that I won't mention to avoid spoilers, but you may already know about.
Should show reduced price through website at checkout stage
If you enjoyed the main game and want some more of that. I'd say these were some of the most challenging shrines also.
I’m half way through the game at the moment. Will it spoilt anything buying or shall I wait until I’ve completed the main quest?
I was SO close to buying this yesterday

You'll be fine I think. It just adds more back story to some of the characters.
I'd highly recommend anybody get this *before* starting the game for the first time. It adds a lot of 'general' content throughout and extra stuff to do that helps fill out the playthrough a bit better. Plus the map feature alone is something you'll *really* want from the start.

Get it ASAP. Waiting til the end is the worst time to buy it.

I’ve had the game ages and not played more than about 45 minutes and forgotten it so need to start again so thanks for recommending the dlc

You can't start the additional quest until you've beaten all four Divine Beasts, so you'll be fine

Is it worth me getting it if I’ve already finished the game?
do you need the original game to play this?

I've just finished it, got a solid weeks worth of game time out of it after 100% the main game, recommend.

I spent like 100 hours on the game on the Wii U and didn't even finish it, rebought it for Switch.

Wasn't gonna get the DLC again, but it's worth it for the teleporting horse and the korok mask I think.

Does anyone play BotW with the 8bitdo SN30 pro controller? I kind of want one but I'm not sure if it's comfy to play games like this with it.

If you loved the game, then for £12, it's probably worth it. A lot of the treasure hunting will be pointless for you, and you'll get little benefit from the awesome map tracing feature, but the last 'chapter' is decently enjoyable even if I think the added Divine Beast isn't great. And you get the Trials of the Sword thing, which I really loved, just like I really liked Eventide Island and its 'start from nothing' challenge, but not everybody will feel the same way about it.

I would avoid it if you weren't quite enamored with the game, though.
I wasn't really that impressed with the DLC myself, I'm not sure it really added much to the experience of the game. If you really like the game and want to expand it, then getting it on sale isn't a bad thing, but I think it's overhyped.
Anyone know the best place to get the base game?
Absolutely worth it to get - thought the extra shrines were really good. It will adds extra items and clothes into the overworld immediately for you to find with various special abilities - new quests become available once you reach certain points in the story so if you are in the middle of playing, you can safely buy this now. I really enjoyed the DLC content and it is in my view well worth this price.
My w been loving botw that I bought for a rainy day last month, both still playing it 4-5 weeks later, so this dlc is a no brainier for me -thanks - heat added.
This is a good excuse to start the game again in an extra hard mode, all enemies are one level higher with an extra gold level enemy who take ages to kill. Also enemies regenerate health as soon as you hit them which is good because as you get more advances normal mode is way too easy, now I kill gold lynels for sport without getting hit. I liked the extra gameplay and the final boss was one of the best bosses in any Zelda in my opinion. Also you get the master cycle . Was definitely worth it for me if you're up for doing all the shrines again. If you're half way through j would say just start with master mode, I hate when a game is too easy
wseed11/07/2019 15:41

I'd be interested to know the answer to this too.

Just get it because there's a master mode which you will want to do and then will have to start again anyway, test yourself with master mode it's difficult early on

Thanks for the tip, bought. Zelda £ pence per hour play has to be the best value game I've ever bought. Worth buying the switch for this alone.
Thanks for posting @athonjohn93 and a very belated welcome to hotukdeals. We've added this thread to the days Highlights pages.

I set up an alert on ebay for new listings of it, got a sealed copy around £30 after Christmas time. You may be able to get it cheaper if you don't mind used condition or cartridge only

Got botw with my switch a couple of years ago, played for a couple of hours and didn’t get on but gave it a second chance this year and so glad I did! The game is immense and one of the finest games I’ve ever played (up with horizon zero dawn). I’ve done the 4 divine beasts but been putting off final boss as dont want it to finish! Bought this last night as looks to have some good bits in so now very much looking forward to this weekend.

I completed the base game I think 3 years ago and not had any DLC. Is this worth getting or is it more for those wanting to restart the whole quest again with this DLC adding extra features along the way?
Might be a silly question but I've two accounts on my Switch with two Zelda saves. If I get this on one account, will it unlock on the other?

EDIT: Forgot to google this for some reason. Anyway the results seem positive!

Heat for the deal!

Haha 'less rushed'. Reality: delayed year after year after year. I remember. I was waiting . . .

BoTW was my favorite Zelda game by far. But it was radically different from previous Zelda games, and if you didn't like the weapon durability system it would make the game miserable.
Bought the switch a while back with Mario and Zelda. Finished mario (not completely), never got started on Zelda (story of most Zelda games for me since N64 despite loving the series). Might be time to dive back in given the comments here about sticking the DLC on before starting the campaign (I got literally 10 mins in one lunchtime at work).
