The Breitling Aviator 8 watch is a heritage inspired model, prominently displaying the day of the week, date and time.

Although the casing is sized at a modern 41mm in diameter, Breitling have kept heritage at the forefront with the design, adding the vintage bidirectional bezel and the railroad minute track to the blue coloured dial, both quintessential features to the iconic Navitimer model.

The days of the week are clearly displayed at 12 o’clock, while the date window can be found at 6 o’clock. Luminescent Arabic Numerals index markers, and luminescent filled hour and minute hands ensure the time can always be clearly read.

Set upon the robust steel strap for a lustrous finish. Powered by the Breitling 45 self-winding mechanical movement, vibrating at 28,800 per hour with an impressive power reserve of up to 40 hours.

At £2.5k how is this a deal?

Because it’s usually more than £2.5k

Just for others checking in on the watch alert, what’s the common consensus with Breitling? All my watch related forums seem to be mainly US dominated so I get a skewed opinion.
Nice but wife likes a leather strap
This looks way too sensible to be a Breitling! Reminds me of a Hamiton Khaki King (although 5x the price):

You don’t have to like it to talk about its merits. I was hoping for a bit more than that...

Breitling are a good brand that have found mainstream success. They've done that through advertising celebs and whatever wearing their watches in TV adverts etc.

Unhealthily attached insecure slobs think it cheapens the image of the brand, so it's not as well regarded.

I personally don't like their designs (bar the iconic Navitimer), but they're a legit brand. For me the designs are too big, too bulky, too busy. But they've had a bit of a resurgence as of late.

This or around 30 Casio Edifice?
Basically an ETA 2836 movement (badged as Breitling), cheap to service by any good watchmaker. Good price for a Breitling, high price for an ETA. Heat added for the price.
