Genuine question - why do people spend > £1,000 on a mobile phone when a £10 feature phone can make phone calls.
Looked at this today. Lovely watch at a fantastic price. My only slight critique would be that for a Breitling it’s not very Breitlingy. If that makes any sense!

I'm more confused about why people spend £1000 on a canada goose parka to then walk round the trafford centre in it, which is about 25 degrees even in winter...

I agree I think Breiting have lost there way a little.

Same reason people collect anything else, spare income and interest.
A £1 watch still tells the time, but the craftsmanship is what you pay for when looking at high end watches.

Wearing a Top end watch (not a Breitling though) is the same as putting your money in to art. You can enjoy it and know that it isnt losing any money. A rolex will be worth more than you paid for it as time goes on.
The funny thing is Blurigard no one ever asks that phone question end of the day buying the right watch will keep your money safe and can even make you money, if people dont get it they dont get just let it be! Same with cars why does anyone need a ferrari worth £3m when a Ford can be bought for £500 both do the same thing.

My only issue is how is this a navitimer...Navitimer is a classic this just isnt!

A comment like this shows you knownothing about watches. Breitling doesn’t hold its value like a Omega or Tudor but it doesn’t depreciate as fast as a car. Buy a new car and the moment you drive it off the forecourt you’ve lost £3000. Buy an IPhone for £1000 and within 4 years it’s worth £150 trade in value.

Because a man, every man, should have a quality time piece. If I had the money I would opt for A Lange & Sohne or a Patek Philip as they are works of art and engineering
Good price. I actually really like the new Breitlings. Love their new designs 👊🏻

So true. A Langhe & Sohne if I ever won the lottery. The staff at their store in Mayfair are brilliant. So knowledgeable and the watches are works of art. This watch is different from usual Breitling design. It might be worth a look.

I agree that it isn’t really a Navitiner, but then loads did I believe and Breitling reacted. Think these are Aviators now are they not?

Good deal, not a fan of this particular Breitling myself but that’s just personal taste. Voted hot!

Me too. Wasn't a fan of their really big shiny pieces. I have an Aerospace from the early noughties which is just perfect. 40mm, titanium thin and about the most accurate quartz you can get.

I personally enjoy the look of nice watches and if I'm ever in trouble and have lost my phone or it's out of battery or broken, I've got a watch! Prefer G shocks though ad I've got a compass in my current one

Personal preference. But like someone has already said, most peoples phones cost between £500-£1000 these days and will depreciate by about 80% after 3 years. Or an apple watch that costs £300 plus that will be obsolete after 4 years...

Automatic watches will last generations & retain a significant amount of it's value.

I just always find the faces too 'fussy'. Feels like the case is too small even when it's not, if that makes sense? I do appreciate them, just dont think I will ever buy one. I guess I'm more of a minimalist!

Same reasons why women like big chunky of gone off carbon on their fingers held in my expensive metal. I have always wanted a breitling. I’m more the avenger hurricane kinda guy. I will one day get one but I’m not going to effectively get into debt buy getting one on monthly instalments. I will get one when I can afford one. Also I’m not about the resale or buying one to make money. I’m getting mine coz I love it and wouldn’t sell it. Maybe pass it onto my son.

Load of rubbish. The stainless steel rolex watches maintain their value. Some models increase over time albeit slowly. The bi metal and precious metal rolex watches plummet in value. Just go to any pre-owned rolex store to see the prices displayed.

You clearly know nothing about Rolex. If you are luckly enough to find somewhere that has a premium Rolex in stock at the moment and will sell it to you, the chances are you can sell it on for a profit. It has been like this for some time. Google or ask someone that knows before coming back and making yourself look silly again. Modified watches of every brand plumet because there is no accounting for taste.

Yes - I see they are making more of a push in the UK now they are rebranded purely "Grand Seiko" than the odd Seiko Grand Seiko.
