I have an identical pair but badged as Bushnell......they are simply 'ok'.......not good enough to count a gnats pubes at a thousand feet, but fine for spotting a fine pair of bristols at a hundred paces from my sunbed in Majorca.......

And I dont mean pigeon steps.

For a better pair with 140m Field of view, get the Nikon Aculon A211 8 x 42, currently £59 @ Currys.

See previous thread re the Bressers.

That's what I thought when I saw the 12x magnification

So you're saying that the £59 binoculars are better than the £8 binoculars? Jeez, it's a shock. I'm going to have to go and sit down...

Optics are multi-coated rather than fully coated but hey! They still get great reviews). You'll be using these long after the £8 pair have been dumped.

Actually bought the Nikons for my 6 yr old daughter for bird watching in our large garden. Wanted to buy a £15 cheap pair like these Bressers but probably a waste of money. The Nikons are Bak 4 (better than bak 7) and 140m field of view.

Pocket binoculars are in the description, so it is absolutely pointless comparing these with more expensive high powered bins.
I bought these last year to keep in the car, and they are ok for the price, but nothing special.

These are rubbish compared with this...

The Hubble telescope is available from Nasa at $2.5bn. Worth paying the extra.

If these were 8 x 32, I would probably buy a pair.

12 x magnification needs the lens to be at least 4x the magnification (e.g. 12 x 50). Voted hot but these Bressers are only good in bright light.

For goodness sake, these are pocket money bins, nobody's interested in your technicalities. If your £59 ones are so good why don't you get your own thread instead of trolling someone elses?

Really? I bought some this morning and have been looking through them including at dusk and they are fine. They're also eight quid. Feel free to get some and then comment based on experience.

Oh is that what it is, I thought it was a bit pricey for a wheelybin that's fallen over X)

8 or 10x would be more useable for day to day use, but hot for price.

Anyone with hand tremors or just had too much coffee need not apply.

In my experience the problem with cheap binoculars isn't so much optical quality as collimation. If they aren't well collimated you'll begin to notice inexplicable headaches after using them. In the case of Liddle/Bressers some pairs will be OK but some might not be. See the following thread:

Is this still available to buy at lidl, or has it now expired?
