We purchased a slightly higher model about 2 years ago these are excellent scopes and at this price a VERY HOT deal.

Bargain - £30 more on Amazon and get decent reviews for a starter microscope.

Thanks OP. Still some stock around as I managed to get one from Thornaby today (one left about 11:45am).

Cheers OP, found one today

Thanks OP, I found one in the St. Neots store.

They have them in Monmouth if interested

Can someone confirm that the maximum PC connected magnification is only 10x please?

excellent!! Bresser are quality - heat OP!

The 10x just refers to the additional magnification on top of the magnification of the microscope lens.
So depending on the lens you choose with the rotating dial you can get up to 1280x I believe.
That said, the resolution is low so you don't see as much detail as you do by eye.

But its easier to use if you're showing several people or want to capture photos.

Just a reminder, the light source is coming from the bottom so it won't work if your sample is not transparent!

I got one from lidl last year (looks the same) and it has a top light and a bottom light, so will work with non-transparent samples too.

I have seen them listed as working with transmitted light and incidental light.

I always wanted one of these as a 9 year old kid.... funnily enough I never did Biology past GCSE level

Very handy microscope... Have been cheaper though.
We have a couple at school and they are pretty good especially with the USB Ocular.

As a Biology teacher i can recommend these.

Picked up one of these from Basingstoke Lidl near the Aquadrome. Great stocking filler for the discerning 11 year old - build quality looks superb.

Is this any good or is it a load of Biolux?

sorry...!

They had three in Emersons Green Bristol store at five pm, they looked good but I do not need one, they had cheap binoculars as well.

None in Oxford today
