I'm sure this was £40 with a the matching toaster last week

what's so special about this kettle that justifies the high asking price?

Well at first glance because it so difficult to clean ?

I've had a Breville Impressions kettle for a few months now and am impressed with its performance.
Looks similar to this but only £28 from John Lewis.

The kettle above looks like an entry from "Pimp my Kettle" !!!

Yes it was. The toaster is great if you like an inch of uncooked bread at the top of each slice

"Now you too can feel like Liberace everytime you boil the kettle!"

You obviously missed the main selling point that it is ‘easy to use’!

I dread to think how their customers will cope once such devices become IOT connected.

No idea and the water level indicator is behind the handle so surely that's a bit awkward to see when filling it up.

Bling , bling

Nice kettle. Have it along with the toaster. This price on a regular basis
