Some really good reviews online and can add 3 years cover for an extra £15. Bought to replace my actifry. Use code on new credit account for an extra £30 off. I upgraded my account and it still accepted code so worth a try. Stock available for delivery from 19th April.

I have this exact model but as a lot of people state on reviews they don’t tend to last more than 18 months which is exactly what happened with mine. As soon as the bulb goes that’s it. It’s not put me off buying a new one but I have been struggling to source one that isn’t £100 plus. Most of the big retailers no longer stock it and even the Breville website have had no stock this year at all. I currently have a back order on Amazon for £95 but I have a feeling it won’t arrive. It’s like they’ve stopped producing them. Very stated stock was due a couple of weeks ago on their website, I’m not sure if it did come into stock then sold out again or if their expected stock date just changed.

Will be just my luck. That's why I've paid the extra £15 cos I've had two actifry models and both have packed up just out of warranty :-(. I bought a ninja foodie last week but not impressed with it so will be going back. Will keep my fingers crossed that they do get stock. Hope you manage to eventually get yours too.

Do you know if this is just the case with this white/grey one?
we have the older green/white model and had for more than 4 and a half years, used probably 4-5 times a week and still going strong. I wonder if we’re just lucky or something has changed in the two models.

My uncle has had the green one for over 2 years but the paddle has broke in his but still works just means he has to manually rotate the food during cooking. I think it's probably hit and miss with a lot of things these days.

Thank you, I used mine nearly every day so it did have a lot of use and like I said it’s not put me off buying a new one. I just find it strange that Breville themselves have had no stock since before Christmas, same goes with the green model. It’s just a shame you can’t buy replacement parts so that’s what I mean about the bulb, once it goes it no longer works as you can’t replace it. Fingers crossed you get yours too. I do prefer it to actifry. I originally got mine in Costco for £100 which was the cheapest at the time.

Paddle? The Halo doesn’t have a paddle, the whole bowl rotates as far as I know. Unless that’s what you mean I think he may have an activfry?

It may well be as I have only read reviews on the VDF122 which is the white/grey duraceramic. There is also a white and grey model which is the vdf120 but that’s not duraceramic and is just the same as the green vdf105 expect the colour. 4 and a half years is very good going.

Perhaps we have been lucky. Just looked back and only paid £89 back then so a good deal also. I’ll be prepared to replace it shortly

No sorry he's got the original halo that had the paddle. It was the model before this one. My mistake.

I didn’t realise there was an earlier model, learn something new everyday

I think with a lot of things some will last longer than others and maybe they did change something in the models since then. As the model above came out a year after the green one it was retailing around £180 when I got mine so £100 was a fab price. That’s why I begrudge paying more for it but they are difficult to get hold of recently. Hopefully your one will continue to last. I’m sure there are lots of others who still have ones going strong years down the line

Yeah these ones are known as the Breville halo plus but the original one podmore refers to had a paddle.
I bought this 1 before xmas to replace my air fryer and I love mine. I got mine when it was on offer for £70
As expected, just had an email from Amazon saying their supplier says it’s no longer available so my order has been cancelled. Looks to me like they’ve been discontinued or have production issues

That’s great it’s been dispatched thanks for letting me know. I ended up ordering the regular vdf105 green one and it arrived yesterday. Got it for around £68 delivered direct from Breville with a discount code. I just hope I won’t be disappointed if it’s not as good as the duraceramic I’m used to.

Thanks. I’ve just used it for the first time, the handle doesn’t click shut (the mechanism is faulty) but I have spares anyway. Also I can’t remember this happening to my other model but I just used it for the first time to cook some chicken nuggets. I cleaned it first obviously but the amount of smoke coming out the vents was ridiculous. I’m sure my other one didn’t do that even when new and my house now smells of burnt plastic. I can’t see anything that has been burnt on the halo so I’m hoping it is just because it’s brand new

That doesn't sound good mine did smell first time but didn't have any smoke? I'm not that impressed with it compared to actifry tbh for some reason chips don't seem to cook evenly and look anaemic even after 35 mins :-(

Oh no, I thought you would like it better I’ve not done chips in a while but they always turned out nice but I have nothing to compare it too. Thankfully the smoking only happened the first use, the smell was awful but it’s not done it since. I looked at some more reviews and some said theirs did that too whilst others didn’t. I actually prefer the bowl in the geeen model, it’s not duraceramic but I find it even easier to clean and it doesn’t cook any slower than the other model. Hopefully you’ll figure out the best times etc for the chips. I use the grill function a lot too for the likes of bacon, sausages and gammon steaks etc.

Gonna persevere and see how it goes if not my uncle will be having it for his birthday lol. Yet to try bacon and gammon. I use my pressure cooker for most things but I do slimming world and miss chips so got an airfryer especially for that purpose.

Yes that’s why I got mine initially too as did SW, lost 6 and a half stone on it, nearly 2 years at target so it worked great for me. You’ll smash it, it’s such a good plan. I’ve tried the Iceland SW chips and didn’t rate them at all. Good luck

No I've heard a lot of people saying they not very nice. They have discontinued them now so didn't last very long did they. That's amazing well done. Thank you I've lost 2.5 but want to lose at least another 2 before I get to target.
Just my two cents, but I'm really surprised to see people talking about this product being a "great deal even at £70".

I have the green/white version which I picked up a few years ago when Homebase was clearing them out at "only" £30 each. Even at thirty quid, I was pretty unimpressed, because these things are literally just halogen ovens which spin, and halogen ovens have been available for donkey's years and can be had for £25 or so.

In fact, I think a halogen oven is actually preferable to this unit, because this thing's cooking bowl has the incredibly annoying spindle sticking up in the middle of it, meaning that you can't put anything of any decent size in it (like a pizza, or a whole fish for example). The spinning/tumbling action is handy for chips, but anything remotely fragile like onion rings just fall apart and get destroyed. And what annoys me the most is that the "flat" position isn't actually perfectly flat, so anything runny like pizza toppings etc. can slip off when being cooked.

Honestly I'm amazed anyone's willing to pay more than £30 for this feat of Chinese plastic mass-production. When mine dies, I'm grabbing a halogen.

Edit: and it seems halogen ovens' bulbs can actually be replaced unlike the bulbs in this machine. Crazy.
