Would be tempted to buy one buy looking on the amazon faq it says to cook chips it takes between 25-40 minutes to cook chips which is a bit long compared to a conventional fryer. I understand it's healthier but who wants to wait up to 40 minutes for chips
That's slow. Especially as it's designed like a motorcycle helmet
Wasn't there a deal on here yesterday about the same thing

Think they're mistaking the one posted for Argos with this one.... Good find.

The search function isn't the best on the site though as sometimes it doesn't bring results back
****, paid £94.99 at Argos yesterday. Best give the bowl a quick clean & find a design fault in the handle.
Ordered this on Tuesday, delivered Wednesday from Amazon.
After seeing this I just had a chat with Amazon and they gave me £25 gift credit to my account

Nice one
Thanks - John Lewis have a vdf120 model (for twice the price) which isn't even on the breville website - I guess this is the replacement model and may be prompting the price drop:

My parents have this one ... and now so do I - thanks again.

The newer one doesn't seem to be any different spec wise, just a nicer colour.

Or buy another one and take it back with the old receipt?

Why does it take so long? lol... It's normally a few minutes in a normal fryer.

Does it?, oil must take a good 15 minutes to even get hot enough to cook with.
it takes so long as it is not technically frying the food. The uncooked chips are coated with oil and they are cooked by having hot air blown over them while they are stirred automatically.

I've got one of the original models and the chips are great. I like to cook them for 45 minutes. I don't mind waiting. Ignore the istructions to wash then dry the cut potatoes before adding the oil. Just wash the potatoes then cut them.

Realised that as soon as I ordered the other one. Just need to peel the item number sticker off the box here and stick it on the other one when it comes.

Add in the time the oil heats up, the stink an oil fryer leaves in the kitchen... the cost of replacing 3 litres of oil every so often, along with cleaning out the poxy thing. No-brainer at this price. This is definitely healthier too.

When we bought our previous machine (Actifryer) we binned the oil fryer straight away. My issue with the Actifryer is the clip & paddle aren't as good as they could be. When they finally went, rather than buy replacement parts I decided to change makes.

Used this Halo+ twice & whilst I've realised it's really a hologen table oven that tilts, at £64.99 it's a decent brand at a decent price. I prefer frozen chips & we tend to only use Home Fries or supermarket equivalent of those but they are perfect out of these machines, better than simply having oven chips & 1kg takes about 30 minutes, plenty of time to have the rest of the meal cooking in the oven.

So are you really 'waiting' for chips?
I have a Halogen oven one of those worktop glass bowl type that I bought in Costco for £28 does the same thing, cooks with hot air.

Doesn't do the same thing at all sorry

Uses only half a tablespook of oil to cook 1 kg of chips

How much oil is in a tablespook?
