Great price, but I need it for Xmas
These are excellent.
Not a bad price but this version you cannot control amount of water! Which can be a nuisance.

Agreed, but at least it delivers water that is pretty close to boiling, unlike the Tefal Quick Cup I had before.
This kettle is very good BUT you can not clean the unit where the water is stored so eventually it goes green with mould so I would not buy this again so voting it COLD

Just wondering did you empty water out at night - got my mum one recently and have asked her to make sure she empties it completely before she goes to bed as per instructions

Doesn't that defeat the whole "Convenience" idea of the thing?
Great device, especially handy for older & single people.
Good price (I paid £35 just over a year ago). Unfortunatly, I'm on my 3rd. 1st one leaked after a month, so returned it, and just over a week ago that one started leaking (3 weeks out of warranty). Thankfully, breville were very nice, and sent another replacement. Hopefully, this one will last!

Fill your drinking vessel of choice with (cold) water to the required level. Pour this water into the Breville Hot Cup water reserve. Boil exact amount of water required (excluding any negligible loss when the boiling point occurs), & dispense the now boiled water into the same drinking vessel ready for consumption.

On the plus side, it looks great and makes a nice hot cup very fast.
On the negative side, it is a bit leaky when emptied however much care you take. I had to return the 1st one a few months after I got it because the water drips into the electrics causing the trip to go. It has happened to the new one too. Stick to a standard kettle.
great for coffee but we found its not hot enough for Tea

That seems to somewhat deteriorate the sense of "convenience" though, does it not?
Good to hear these actually get the water near boiling, I had a tefal quickcup and it made horrible lukewarm tea.
Also, it is currently 4 for 3

Water to be used for tea should be drawn from the tap immediately before boiling anyway; so, no, it does not detract from the convenience of a device such as this compared to waiting for a kettle to boil (more) water.

My model of choice (made by Morphy Richards) can boil & dispense a cup of boiling water within 30 seconds.
It would appear from the Morphy Richards product(s) catalogue on their web site, that the product I use is no longer manufactured.

Here is an Amazon (UK) page for the same product:

Got this last week from John Lewis for £34.99!
Hope it lasts as it was for my nan who can no longer lift a kettle to make her drinks
Yes i keep it empty but its still hard to clean as it is a really bad design i had a tefal one cup before it was excellent to clean and easy to fit a water filter ae well.

I now use my Tassimo T40 to make tea or coffee (tea bag/instant) with the aid of a disc you can get for a fiver. This will enable you to deliver hot water at 150,250,350 and 450 ml volumes,or less if you simply hit the button any time, yet you still have the option if you fancy something ...special?
Thanks
Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned kettle, cheaper and far less faff

Had the variable one for 4 years. Used daily and don't empty. No discolouration or problems.

hey dude, I been using mine for couple of years and used everyday, I haven't seen green with mould, missue clean it once, because of lime scale. Read the instruction how to clean your kettle, I think it is clever little kettle.
