Newell: The importance of regular descaling your HotCup water dispenser. Your water company should be able to tell you how hard the water is in your area, the harder your water the more regularly you will need to descale the unit. Untreated scale deposits can potentially block the internal particle filter, reducing the ability / amount of water flow into a cup. Therefore, scale can cause your HotCup water dispenser to temporary malfunction, please follow descaling guidance provided in the instruction booklet

I have one of these and it is brilliant. Perfect for me as I have arthritis and only boils the exact amount of water needed. No problem with it making tea and nobody has ever complained about it when I've made it for them. My kettle is redundant!

Great price, but we weren't impressed with ours. It dispenses 250ml and you can't increase/decrease that, so if you have small mugs/cups they're OK, but big mugs end up half filled

Thanks. This kills it for us as we have huge mugs. Although I'm confused as the Amazon description states......

"The large tank holds up to 8 cups and thanks to a height-adjustable drip tray, you can fill everything from your brother’s comedy over-sized mug to your mum’s tiny teacup without ever spilling a drop or creating a splash." (edited)

We have one of these and it's brilliant. Granted you need a kettle to boil water for pasta and the likes. Water is as hot as from a kettle. It only pours 250ml but there's a button on the front that you can press to top it up and press again to stop it pouring. Plus you only boil the water you need which is great for these cost of living times

This does exactly the same and is 3kw and 1.7L and is less than £22 from Amazon but it actually boils the water. If you are a tea drinker best avoid it as it only heats water to about 95°C which wouldn't make a great cup of tea.

You don't want boiling water for tea. The water temperature for black tea should be 90 to 98°C and for green tea around 80°C.

My dad has one of these, and swears by it, says its great. But when making more than one cuppa, he uses a jug and fills its in two or three goes till theres enough water for the cups he's making.

I just think a kettle with enough water for the cups you are making would be just as easy. I think these are more suited to just making the one cup at a time.

I have one of these they are brilliant and I wouldn't be without it. I also have a kettle for things other than a cuppa. This is a bargain

These are excellent. I'm thinking about buying another (I have an older model) as a spare. No boiling of excess water and wasting energy. Plus, for someone with problems lifting things it is heaven sent - they should be available free to those who need them for that reason. It would save the NHS a fortune on treating scalds!

Mug of water (tap or bottled) microwave 3mins done; non of that scale taste that eventually happens

We need a replacement but I am not convinced this is a good deal at all, the same model seemed to be selling for £25 4 years ago of you search on HUD
