Have had one of these for years now and its still going strong, so quick an easy to use

Usually £35 so its a deal to be had at this price and you will save electricity and water use compared to a normal kettle too

The only downside is that you cannot adjust the volume on this model but otherwise its great

How does it save you electricity compared to a kettle? Does it only boil 1 cup at a time?

Correct... its dispenses 200ml (i think). There is a variable version that you twist to vary the amount but this one is fixed.

Mine is still going 12 years on. Want a new one with variable flow so I can boil more than one cup at a time. These really are great
Really great for your morning coffee no waiting for the kettle to boil
I love mine & it's great for my son to make cups of tea/coffee too as he doesn't have to lift a heavy kettle.
We've had two of these and both are we're rubbish, took em back.

Why? Not your cup of tea?
I have one, stopped using it because of a funny taste.

I have one, it's pretty good.

I suddenly noticed a strange taste after I was away from home for a few weeks, it turned out that some kind a f green algae had formed in the corner of the water container, a quick clean with a bottle brush and it was fine again.

I think the problem was the few weeks of still standing water and the kettle being in direct sunlight near a window.

Yeah...can’t we all just get oolong

Had a Tassimo, and binned it. Never had a cup of coffe that was more than luke warm from it, had to put the cup in the microwave to heat it up! Tried it with a tea pod, as well... tasted like I was back on an aeroplane!!

Love some pun action. Thanks for joining in. I really liked the tea leaf line

It says "Boils a cup of water in under 50 seconds" - my £10 kettle (2kw) already boils a full mugs worth in 56 seconds

and I already only boil a cups worth by using the cup to fill my kettle. It doesnt need rocket science.

This is 3kw and not much faster and so it appears to be a kettle with a fancy dispenser and no more but if it is keeping water reboiled for instant use (like an electric urn)
it would be very expensive to run compared to using a kettle.

I wondered about the wastefulness of keeping water hot, too, but if it takes that long to boil then presumably it doesn't!

So it's not much better than a conventional kettle.

It does not keep the water hot. The water stored in the main unit is always cold. When you press the button, it heats up the spout and only the water that passes through that is heated. It then switches itself off so no more electricity is used than necessary and no water is reboiled. The other advantage is that it pours (or dispenses) the hot water itself so it's a bit safer for less able/older people.
I have one of these. But we live in a hard water area and it kept blocking up and needing to be cleaned with anti scale.
But if a pain so stopped using it.
We've got this & i like it in that it's quick & saves energy + water But the temp is bit on low side for me... So i end up reheating in micro often

Likely to wipe out any savings, as a microwave oven is only 50% efficient at best.

Possibly true & that's what bothers me but as I say it's me personally but rest of family ok with it, perhaps I got a bit hot tongue taste buds .
Mainly if I leave it after dispensing for few secs.

Oh fair enough, if it doesn't happen very often! You might even make net savings by not boiling the water for most people!

I live in the South East so my water is hard too. I get some limescale in the outer joints but that comes off easily. Not had any problem in use yet though and I've had mine 3 or 4 years now
