Been this price at least a month, purchased myself (didn't think to post), it's a very good kettle, purchased to match the stainless look of my dualit toaster. It is very loud though but this doesnt bother me.

Ditto the above i also purchased for the same price maybe 2 or 3 months ago.
Looks very nice, i think sound is average to similar specs and price tbh. Also doesn't bother me.
I bought one of these last time Argos reduced. I could never get rid of the taste of metal, then it broke within 3 months. Just binned it.
Sounds like you were entitled to a refund or exchange.

Even better!
Not having the issues as above myself
Very good deal. I have used this for many years and very satisfied.
I would avoid this kettle. I bought it about 6 months ago and can still taste plastic/metal from it. It is worse at the start and then improves but there are better kettles out there for the price.

I even boiled it with bicarbonate of soda but still tastes bad. Never worth 40 quid in the first place.

Definitely a quality control issue.

I just picked up this kettle. However, instead of the kettle advertised on the Argos website, I ended up receiving this one: IKJ796 Jug Kettle - Polished Stainless Steel-Breville amazon.co.uk/dp/…6SR
I managed to get 20% off so ended up getting it for £15.99. Make sure you check as both kettles look similar but are a different shape and size.
