A decent deal for a good rice cooker. Much dearer on other sites. Free reserve and collect too.

I have a rice cooker, but not this make. It really makes rice nice and fluffy or you can make sticky rice which is good too. Heat added

I appreciate that this may be a stupid question, but...

Why is this better than a good old saucepan for cooking rice?

Hot for the price though!

Flick a switch. No watching. And it keeps the rice warm

Consistently well cooked rice, especially if you have it often. Also very easy to use and saves time.

Saves times as in cooks it quicker or.....?
How does it make normal or sticky rice as mine always seems to be sticky in the pan?

Do you give it a good rinse first before you start to cook it to get rid of most of the surplus starch? I find that helps it not clump together (it does with the 'Easy Cook' Long Grain rice anyway). And obviously timing it right with the right amount of water helps too. Sometimes it's just trial and error before you get it right. I just wait for the little holes to start appearing as the water boils away and then put a lid on the pan and turn the heat off and let it sit for a few mins. Seems to work for us that way.

Yep always rinse it first i may be boiling it for too long then perhaps but if this gizmo sorts that then win win

It keeps it moist and warm in the cooker and you don't need to stand and cook it on the hob where sometimes it boils over.

Tried sticky rice in the pan but it doesn't come out right. In the rice cooker it comes out really nicely cooked.
