Don't confuse 2 different models. The one posted earlier on Amazon was the Breville VKJ318, which is a far better model than this one. This is the basic version that can't set the amount of boiling water to dispense for example. Unfortunately, the earlier deal is no longer available, so if you don't mind the lesser features, then this one is still a good deal.

So despite the error, you still get a hot vote from me! :w00t:

This model was only £30 until last week, and is normally around the £34 mark from Amazon

Well. i'm sure i paid about £20 for mine at xmas ...
But I love it .... seriously wouldn't be without it

I ordered one for my mum at £30 but it only does a mug full of water not a cup, so water was overflowing and it went back. I fancied one myself but we have major chalk scale issues here and I think it would be a sod to clean.

Great product. As has been mentioned you can't set the amount of water it boils each time though so you need to have the right size cups!

Durrrrr you are obviously using the wrong type of bucket...

pffft Tea making no0b!

i got the other model one of this when it was posted the other day form argos £39.99.. BIG mistake, the water, no matter how many times i cleaned the "kettle" tasted awfull, the tea had a stale taste to it... took it back and went back to my old normal kettle! just my experience anyhow

I bought one about a year ago for £69 !!!!
Never had any problems and the drinks taste fine to me.
The only reservation is if you want more than one mug at a time, or more than a mug to make gravy/custard etc.
I bought a water filter jug and use that to top up the reservoir.

I imagine these suffer ther same problem as the tefal version - USER ERROR

they dispense boiling water in seconds, so the 1st couple of seconds worth of water is not boiling therefore needs to be thrown away, after that all the water will be boiling.

Hope this helps those who cant make tea

follow this simple rule and your tea will be delightful.

Had the tefal one for over a year best kettle ever

I had the same experience. The hot water does not seem to be hot enough to properly make the tea. You need actually boiling water to make decent tea.

Lesson learned.

Naff present given to a not particularly nice "friend". :whistling:

The original Tefal one got slated for being lukewarm but I think these newer models work much better.

I measured temperature of water exiting tap at 96c.

No, they don't have the same error at all, these dispense the boilingest:p water I have ever had, as stated the only drawback is that it will dispense a set amount of water.

Great kettle but as others said, it only dispenses 250ml of water at a time. Never had an issue with temp or taste but I do have to dry the base often as water always gets between the kettle and the base. No worries of any shocks though as the power comes from a rubber/raised connection.
