Good timing OP. My son dropped my breville and snapped the handle last week. These things are great for making panini's, toasted cheese sandwiches and pancakes.
Ordered. Cheers.

how does this one compare to the VST025?

I have one of these and it is brilliant best sandwich toaster I have ever had, great price

Can you cook a steak with this like a George Foreman?

I believe the only difference is the size. This is the 2 slice whereas the other one is 4!

No.

Will this lock in the sandwich and be easy to cut like a normal sandwich toaster.

Have always used the sandwich toaster but happy to expand my horizon

I use my George Foreman to make toasties.

I have this. It pretty much makes your sandwich or panini air tight!

I've got the VST071 and its brilliant. This looks very similar, although without the ceramic coating.

no harm in trying

Any idea how long it takes to cook a Panini?

Hardly any time at all - I just used it. I like the cheap Tesco panini 2-packs. Just put some cheese, ham, pastrami whatever in the panini - slam it in the Breville for a few minutes. Whilst its in there get some salad, toppings ready to put inside once warmed up. Perfect!
