What, you paid £80 less for 4 tyres. So that makes it someone gave you £10 for the tyres.
What am I missing here?.

E for fuel rating

I understand why they put these ratings on them, but they can be misleading, directing people's attention to one aspect of a tyres performance, but ignoring the flip side of the same coin.

The fuel efficiency rating measures the rolling resistance of the tyre with the road - the more resistance, the more fuel it uses - hence lower fuel efficiency. But the rolling resistance is also the grip of the tyre to the road. Tyre manufacturers that focus on lowering the rolling resistance to gain a higher fuel efficiency rating will be sacrificing the grip of the tyre - longer stopping distances, poorer handling and acceleration.. If you saw the rating for that moving in the opposite direction on the same sticker it would make you think twice, but that's not currently required by the sticker, so for now they focus on economy rather than safety or performance.

Fuel efficiency is a valid consideration, but don't think of it as a measure of good tyre / bad tyre. If you are currently thinking that way, take two or three that you are considering and look them up on motoring review sites or forums to get a much more in depth understanding of how it actually performs in the real world. You might save a few percent on your fuel bill, but a repair bill that could be avoided will save you a lot more.

This would cost £283.84 to put 4x tires on a car

This chap is basically saying that when he just bought his new 4x tires for around £200 they were no where near this quality and for £20 extra a tire for what your getting is a really good deal

Well I'm pretty sure this is what he is saying

Please correct me if you think otherwise..

Got these on my Leon, I like them, but I don't need them just yet. Hope the price remains for a couple of months. Tyre prices have suffered with the changes in exchange rates
Would these be suitable for a Volkswagen Beetle? I need one of my front tyres replacing.

Spot the woman
Good spot and good price. Annoyingly I think our Mini is 225/45/18. The ride is awful on runflats, but I suspect going down to a 40 profile would negate the benefits of ditching the run flats.

Great price but only 36 fitting centres nationwide. Nothing near me.
These are cheaper fitted than delivered shame theres not centres close to me as I need new front tyres in my civic. Don't think these would fit anyway as I have 17 inch wheels, unfortunately good deal Op

E for fuel rating

These are sports performance tyres. They are designed for more grip = more rolling resist ance and so more fuel used. If I was throwing my car around ( I don't) I would prefer stickier tyres.

Good price but these tyres are really noisy. Especially on concrete motorway surfaces.

It is you that caused the confusion by adding 4 tyres together for cost and deducting £80.00 off that full set total.
The original post is for A SINGLE TYRE at £70.81...i hope that helps your confusion.
Jeez!.......Honestly?

think he was talking about TYRES not TIRES :]
These tyres are absolute junk - expect lots of noise, poor dry grip, abysmal wet grip, rampant tramping, and a rock hard ride. Spend a little more, these tyres may well ruin your enjoyment in your car. I traded my GTD in for a 4WD R because it tramped so much (should've just changed the tyres!).

One upside is they last for ages because they are so hard.

They seem to be fitted as standard to VW GTI/GTD/R on 18" wheels, the best upgrade you can give a new car with these fitted is to swap them out for something made by pretty much any other big manufacturer (Goodyear, Dunlop, Pirelli, Continental, Uniroyal, Michelin).
Ordered cheers

My GTI came fitted with these as standard. Terrible set of tyres, would not recommend them. As you said tramping and grip is a nightmare. Will be changing mine to Michelin pilot sport 4 soon
Excellent price. £100 per corner cheaper than mine!
Band E fuel rating ain't good.Would of been nearly ok on my car but need 95Y.Looking to get pilot sport 4 all round but as for this not a bad deal at all for those who ain't bothered about fuel rating like a diesel owner Maybe?
