Depending on your needs or would be reverse osmosis, Berkley, cold water stream or distiller. I can assure you Brita removes next to nothing. Makes the water softer by most.
Guys it's a £10 water filter. RO is much more expensive than that. I use it so that my kettle doesn't scale as much and cups of tea taste better

Sure, they're all much more expensive but they also do the job. If you distille the water from your Brita, you'll have a smelly gunk left in your distiller. I've personally done this and the proof was in the pudding. You can also get a water testing stripes to see what's in it. It's really worth saving up and investing in a proper filter.
