Ordered thanks! Was waiting for this long time

it says cartridge change once a month every 100 litres , but what if you dont use it often, do you need to change it once a month even if you dont use 100 litres in a month.

I know it has display telling you.... but is this just a count down to a month that automatically tells u to change?

Even if you change the filter once a month, you are still drinking water that has been sat in your fridge for up to a month (because due to the design it never fully empties and therefore you are always topping up the slops). To leave it even longer so the water has even longer to fester. Yuk.

Just been reading more about it, they says unit has to be taken out and totally emptied each day, think a jug be more easier for me, although i been using just normal tap water with no ill effects.

Although i hardly drink water just thought it would be handy for hot drinks etc

But think more hassle then i want so want bother.

Just to let you guys know, it takes a considerable amount of time to fill the tank because the filter acts so slow. We had one and had to replace is with a normal jar!

Mine's built in to the fridge. It's good, but you'll probably find yourself only using it in the summer!

that is so rubbish, if you're able, and its not hard, do what I did & get a pentek cbr2 10" under counter filter for £20 on ebay & a matching pentek/pentair housing from daqua.co.uk for £21.50 and a faucet for £10 and have top quality, chlorine odor, lead, voc & cyst free water on tap. very easy to install & 10 times better than brita. only need to replace annually. keeps minerals in but removes a lot of junk. was thinking of posting deal for pentek filter actually too.

OMG paid double this a few months back, we use it all the time for squash, just don't add the filter!

@aircanman just don't add the filter?? What so you just use it as a jug?? Lol

its not a jug...

Probably not so useful if you have to empty and fill every day, as I'd imagine 8.5L of water is pretty heavy and cumbersome. Something else that'll get used for a week then forgotten.

I bought one of these, I was using a empty 2lt juice bottle for cold water but this is ideal, I think because the fridge is so cold the water should be fine for awhile i have no concerns altho i have a large brita jug that i use to filter and fill this Brita optimax 8.5L Tank.
