Ordered - thanks - hope it fits in my fridge :-)

Would love one of these, shame it won't fit in my fridge

Got one from tk maxx for about £8, months ago. Maybe worth a look in your local.

Even better than qwerty suggested, I would email Amazon and tell them that is what you plan on doing. They have some of the best customer service in my experience and are normally pretty pragmatic about things like that. They tend to realise it is better all round to just issue you a partial refund rather than making you send it back and re-purchase. Worth a try I'd say.

Thanks for the tip. I would have done this if I bought it from Amazon, but I didn't :-(

The other company is willing to take it back if I pay for the postage back (fair enough), but to be honest, by the time I return it I'd only save £5-£7 so it's not worth it in my opinion. I'll just take the defeat on that one :-)

This is the response from Britta about BPA

The potential release of Bisphenol A is related to the use of Polycarbonate. All BRITA materials in contact with water do not contain Polycarbonate and therefore do not release BPA. Additionally, materials used in BRITA appliances are certified food grade quality. This includes migration tests according to EC legislation. I really wish I got this at the deal price, now it's back up around £40.
