if cold say why please for the benefit of others?

We got one of these in black from Argos and it's not bad. Better than the cheap Gracos that they had in Asda.

A big advantage for us is that because it curves in at the back corners it will fit in the gap (28cm approx iirc) between the buckles on the middle rear seat without interference. You have to be a bit of a contortionist to get the buckles latched but I think high back seats with side protection are safer than backless booster seats.

This is a good price for a decent car seat, cheapy boosters for less than a fiver get red hot yet this isn't getting much heat?! Britax have ceased making (although they're still available) standard booster seats as they offer no side impact protection in the event of an accident :Britax website

yep i cant understand why people use them tbh...my daughter asked me when the LOs will stop using their maxi cosi highbacks as it will spoil their street cred? theyre 8 and 5 but both around 110cm. I said they will be in them til they outgrow them lol

anyone got a which subs and can check this … anyone got a which subs and can check this here:http://www.which.co.uk/baby-and-child/baby-transport/reviews/child-car-seatsI have one of these on order and am wondering about cancelling itWe already have one of these, and am concerned if it's not very good in some way. We also have a basic britax, and to be honest, apart from padding, there's not a huge difference in construction quality.

I don't know about the link you have posted, because I don't have a sub to Which - and they are idiots anyway, but AFIAC high backed boosters seats are just high backed booster seats. Nobody, and certainly not Which, tests seats for side impact situations, which is the main reason for having said seats. Even if they did they could only test for for one or two possible accident dynamics, the other 999,999,999,998, or so possible permutations would be irrelevant.

Frontal/rear impact situations are easier to figure out.

Booster seats raise the children up so that adult seat belts work for them and so then they come within the designed safety system of the car.

Personally I have bought outboard seats with very, apparently, good head protection to the sides from Cybex Solutions, we got them very cheap £57.09, following a deal posted here. I just looked on Halfords and they are asking £98 now for these. They are OK but not maybe worth IMHO what is being asked now.

For our middle seat we bought a Britax Adventure for around £30 from Argos, not because it is "the best" but because it fitted. It's very good for the money but not as good as the Cybex, though construction wise not much worse. The Britax head side "wings" look much bigger and better than other seats in this price range, Graco certainly, but not as good as Cybex.

Though IMHO with booster seats it is the the general safety performance of the car that matters rather than the child seat. We have one of the safest cars that you can get, cheaply. Check out folksam.se/pol…226!/webbversioneng_R6546.pdf for a helpful guide.

And just try to drive safely and avoid the looneys I see every day
