Britax Dualfix Combination Car Seat - 20% off £272 at Mothercare

Found 13th Dec 2013
We've been trying to find a good combination car seat that will keep our baby rear facing for as long as possible as much safer. This looks to be one of the best out there just now but at £340 was quite a lot...now down to £272 with 20% off deal.

Lots of great features but mainly Rearward facing from birth to 18kg/40lbs (approx 4 years) allows you to keep your child rearward facing even longer .

Choose rearward facing or forward facing for your child from 9 (20lbs) - 18kg (40lbs) (approx 9 months to 4 years) - offers you the choice of position that best fits you and your child.

Available in different colours too, blue red and grape.

Interesting but expensive!

What price peace of mind? This is a good find

True it is a lot, but my argument was if I can justify more than that on a tv etc I can for the safety of my wee boy.

It does isofix rear and forward facing which is not very common and can stay rer facing for longer than a lot of other seats.

Oh but make sure you check it fits your car at http://fitfinder.britax.co.uk/

It doesn't fit in our Qashqai for example (despite me assuming it would as big car) but we are changing shortly so will do our next car.

Good price!

this was probably cheaper before the 20% off. a few people have commented mothercare have done a homebase and increased their prices!

Cheapest I can see elsewhere is £322

Unfortunately most of the extended rear facing seat are isofix only, there are only a few for those who don't have isofix! Good price though

Would like to know how you lift a 3 yr old in and out of a rear facing?

Rear-facing til 18 kg is ideal but I have 2 extended rear-facing seats, one Britax and one Maxi-Cosi and got them both for £199 each so I would vote cold on this one due to price.

However, I am voting HOT as it is very rare to have extended rear facing seats on HUKD and I am all for rear facing!!

Both my extended rear-facing seats are not isofix - Britax Max-way and Maxi Cosi Mobi.

Same way you lift a 3 yr old into a forward facing seat?? Lifting them in is just same, its them getting in themselves that is more difficult should they want to try climb up themselves.

My 4 yr old and 2 yr old are still rear-facing - have from birth so its the norm for them!

probably more easily than lifting them into a ff seat! the way that (most) car doors open allow easier access to a rf seat than a ff seat. my 2 year old climbs into her seat anyway and then i just clip her in.

we've got a belt-fixed BeSafe seat... I'm sure there's just as many options for belt-fixed erf seats as there are ISOfix.

You can rotate this seat to face you when putting child in, then rotate back to forward or rearward position

Its been at this price for ages - been looking for a deal like this on a rear facing seat for a few months as our little one is getting to max size for his cabriofix - Can you not get 5.25% Cashback too with Topcashback??? Makes it a great price, with or without anyway.

Just need to pop into store to see if it fits our Vectra - slightly worried it wont!

Voted hot!!

We have and its not listed but we were told to pop into mothercare and get them to try it in the car. A friends car wasn't listed but it fits hers!

unfortunatly for me the car seat i was looking at went from £100 to £125.

If that's the case I take my comment back, when I last looked there was not much choice except in isofix

Rotating is a great idea!

My son is still rear facing at 3yrs 2m and will continue to do so until he outgrows his seat (the BeSafe). The besafe only goes up to 15kg though and I think my 1 yr old is almost out of her infant seat. I'm tempted by this and put my son in it and my 1yr old can then go into the besafe.

Great price!

I have been mum child minder and now a grandmother and the car seat above is by far the best I ever used and bought it for my daughter for our grandson. We got ours at mothercare for 260 with free extras and I now want one for my own car and will buy another when my other daughter has her baby. It is costly but worth it.
