Britax Duo Plus ISOFIX Forward Facing Group 1 Car Seat (Black Thunder) £86.66 @ Amazon
£86.66Amazon Deals
Just ordered this seat for my niece, she asked me to try and find her a decent isoFIX seat, for a sensible price, I found this Britax one and showed it to her before I ordered it, and she was well pleased with both the product and the price, she said she had looked at this seat before, but thought it was a bit pricey, as it was over £115
6 months old in forward facing? emmm really?
Erm, really. He is in 12-18 month old clothes and over the 100 percentile for his size. Won't fit in a group0 anymore. Thanks for your concern though.............
Really - the tether is £20 on there - you did well! Wish i'd gone that way now as my halfords group 1-3 isofix seat for our 3 yr old came with a tether.
Just out of interest, how big is your baby? My son's 2 in October and although very small for his age, he can still fit in the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix he had as a baby. Even if your son weighs more, I can't imagine he is anywhere near as tall as my lad.
6 months is very young to have forward facing, mainly because his neck and back aren't physically strong enough to cope with any impact from a crash.
I'm not criticizing, and I'm certainly not jumping on the 'rear-facing' band wagon like a lot of posters on here, just wondered if it might be that it looks like he doesn't fit, rather than actually not fitting in the seat.
Just out of interest, but how does one get to be OVER the 100 percentile? Is he bigger than 100% of other children his age?
Please drop the sarcasm and quit attacking people for no reason.
wow. like 1on4 saying i was thinking about his neck just in case of accident youtube films that's what put me off of changing mine to forward facing to early. I'm not criticizing btw.
If you want a real bargain, and can collect it from the Dumbarton area, PM me.
We moved our daughter at just over 9 months as although she hadn't reached the height limit, she was at the weight limit for the Cabriofix, which is lower than a lot of other Group 0 seats so keep an eye on that as well.
The Duo is very similar and a very good seat IMO
The weight limit for a Cabriofix is 13kg. The 95th %ile for a 6 month old baby is about 9.5kg so doesn't look like it would apply for that posters 6 month old. Quite how a child of that age could weigh that much is beyond my comprehension but then again I have small babies!
As I said, my son is nearly 2 and weighs 11kg which puts him under the 5th %ile. Ah well, someones gota be at the bottom of the chart!
There is a new law coming in within the next five years that every child when using an isofix seat must stay rear facing until 15 months of age.
Also, before buying this seat please check the Britax sight for car compatibility and to check if you need the top tether harness. Do not use this seat without it unless the sight says its okay!
Come on guys, this is your child's life at steak and YOU are in control of it.
Amazon often change their prices, keep checking for it coming back down to this price as that's what happened when I wanted to by the Safefix Plus. Amazon had a limit on per customer too.
Yes. If you have a baby and the red book that maps growth, he is over the average fo a child his age. Will take comments on board and maybe leave it a while. We do have a rear facing Britax he is in now, so it's not desperate. People do like to stuff their comments down your throat though.................
Probably a polite way of saying that he's obese!
Wow..and gosh. I'm all for having a nice forum where comments are kind and well meaning. Perhaps mine doesn't read as it was meant.
You might like to consider why you interpreted my comment as an 'attack' when genuinely no malice was intended, and how you find yourself in a position to be judging others comments quite so harshly.
How a baby can be obese by being breast fed and being larger in size and weight compared to the national average is beyond me.
Am intrigued as to how big my Son is going to be though, he was born at 9lb 12oz and has rocketed in size ever since!
The top and bottom lines in the red book are the 95th and 5th percentiles as, obviously, there will still be children above and below the lines. As long as your heath care providers aren't worried about your sons growth I wouldn't bother yourself with what people on internet forums say...
Anyway, don't put a 6 month old forward facing. It's just not safe if, God forbid ,you are involved in an accident.
