Reduced from £84.99 to £59.99 It is one of a few toddler car seats certified for airplane travel.

The Britax Eclipse is a forward facing car seat. With its slim base, the Eclipse is the ideal solution for three door or small cars and can be installed with either a 3 point seat belt or a 2 point lap belt. You can easily recline the seat for your child's comfort without disturbing them. The softly padded side wings protect from side impacts, while the pitch control system reduces the child's forward movement in the event of an accident.

If you buy a seat on the plane for your toddler you can strap the car seat into the plane seat and your child into the car seat. So they are comfortable and you know your seat isn't being bounced about by the luggage handlers. Much more solid seat than generally supplied by hire car companies.

The seat also fits many awkward bucket style cars and the middle position between 3 seats across the back due to the slim base.

No. The Madrid is 48cm wide, the Eclipse is 43cm wide. It's ideal for people trying to put 3 car seats in the back of a car.

It would depend on the car. Some cars don't have a full width middle seat. others have moulded back seats that limit options. If yet haven't a full width middle seat this one is usually a good fit for the middle. Two of the same seat beside each other won't save you much width as the gain is aligning a lower height seat like the joie elevate or Britax adventure beside it. That style slots in depth and height wise beside the base part of the eclipse aligning with under the chair area.

This one is forward facing only the Madrid can be fitted rear facing up to 13kg around a year. Some of the reviews found it too upright for a tiny baby wgdm rear facing but that would be determined by the slope of the back seat of the car
