Good price for a good car seat.

i have one of these and its ace it did very well in the safety tests as i recall and it "grows " with my lad plus the cup holder is very useful ! great price i paid well over £100 for mine !

Good price. I paid this much about a year ago from Argos. I've got 2 now and they are good seats. Only "problem" is that they don't recline and they don't have isofix. Used for 2nd car. Can't complain for that price.

saw this at £99 at weekend and nearly bought it. It was reduced from £130! thanks very much

excellent price got this and this won the which award for stage 2 2008 or 2009 bargain

Great price I just paid £75 for mine from Great Universal.... though I will console myself with the fact that mine is pink makes a change from black!!!

good price...heat added

Thanks great price cheapest i've seen it

Can highly recommend this seat and I bought it because of its good performance in the which trials.

I bought this from Toys R Us last year and I think it was £50, superb for that price.

Can be a nightmare to put in some cars, and the straps sometimes have a mind of their own.

brilliant seat...brilliant price!

thanks OP heat and rep, been on the look out for one of these! Also managed to get free collection from my locaL store!

Actually it does recline, and Isofix is a waste of time in my opinion.

The seat can be put in both an upright position and a reclined position for younger children. I paid around £80 for mine a couple of months ago, so this is a very good price for a very good car seat

I disagree. I've used mine in a Peugeot 206, my mums Focus, my sisters Aygo, my dads Audi A4, my mother in laws Mini, and my father in laws Saab Convertible. Never had an issue putting it in, takes about 20 seconds when you know what you are doing.

The straps are adjustable via a single button to extend them, and a pull strap to tighten them. The button is concealed, but once you know where it is then again its a piece of cake and takes seconds to make adjustments

I bought mine from Costco and thought it was a bargain, gutted to see it so much cheaper but these will last your child right through. Turns into a booster seat etc.

Absolute bargain - we have three of these throughout the family and they are great - the cheapest I've seen these is £85 so a great deal imo.

Thanks OP. Just bought one of these. We'd looked in to getting one of these previously, to use in the second car. Was personally wanting the plus version, but since the cheapest for that was around £110 or so, then can't grumble at this

Cheers

Great deal - been looking for one of these for a few months. Best price I have seen.

Hot deal but both colours now showing OUT OF STOCK when I go to checkout.

not anymore

This is NOT the seat which did very well in the which tests- britax have a habit of renaming their seats on a regular basis, the seat they tested which did very well was called the evolva 2/3 which has since been renamed as the kidfix iirc. This seat is the evolva 1/2/3. Sorry to disappoint you all but you have been in effect done over by britax. For what its worth, which have a very dim view of seats which cover groups 1 2 and 3, and there were 6 seats which they categorically said do not buy, and they were all group 1/2/3 seats.

Not true, this seat was rated as one of the best two years ago when I bought it. I only focused on the safety ratings.

The only seat for 9 month olds that I could find to fit in a 200sx.

I bought for £90+

Good value here.

For anybody who doesn't believe me, do a google search for "evolva renamed as kidfix" and see what it brings up. I for one would not put my daughter in a seat which claims to cover groups 1, 2 and 3. And for what its worth she has got two britax seats which I rate highly, but isofix seats dedicated to her group.

I just googled it and it came up that the evolva 23 had been renamed that.

I have in my possession the which report 2006 which confirms that they did review the Britax Evolva 123 and the scores it receives are better than the scores of four other Britax seats that were group 1 only. These four seats received a poor rating for frontal impacts.

I hope you've researched your daughter's carseats better than you have this one.

So in your 2006 test report that seat did ok? I was talking about the 2009 report which I felt was more relevant. My daughter has a britax duo plus isofix 2008 and a britax safefix isofix 2009, so actually both very well reviewed seats thankyou.

Congratularions. So why are you scaremongering that seats that cover groups 1, 2 and 3 are not safe? And why is it relevant for me to google seats that aren't even related to this post? Really helpful to put people off buying a safe seat and potentially guide them towards a less safe seat that only covers one group.

I am not scaremongering, I am simply pointing out the FACT that the 2009 which? test quotes the Evolva 2/3 seat as being recommended. People could easily make the mistake of thinking that the 2009 test of the Evolva 2/3 seat is the same seat as this Evolva 1/2/3. I also was pointing out the FACT that a previous which? report (which year I forget) had 6 seats listed that were in the DO NOT BUY category. All 6 of those seats were group 1/2/3, and they said that as a rule seats which are supposed to cover a child from 9 months to 12 years were disadvantaged as a child changes so much in that age band. As a result I did not buy this seat as i felt it too much a compromise.

"Sorry to disappoint you all but you have been in effect done over by britax" what FACT was that useful little nugget based on then? The actual scores this seat received in Which's 2009 review? No didn't think so because that would be giving people useful information rather than badly informed opinions.

So can anyone please tell me where this seat comes in the current/2009 which tests? My daughter has just turned 4 and I need a safe seat for here. I was about to get a maxi cosi rodi XR group 2-3 but then i've just seen this :-)

Cheers

I have both the seats you mention. For a 4 year old I would definately get the maxi cosi. The evolva is better for smaller children 1 to 3 year olds.

My advice is to go to mothercare and try your little girl in both though, whilst fitted in the car.

Gets very decent reviews as an all-rounder wherever it has been reviewed. I am quite happy as been waiting for this for a while. Thanks to OP.

I rate my Britax seat, however I feel the way Britax rename seats is at best misleading, would you not agree? If you had read through the report, saw the words "Evolva" and "Recommended" and bought it, then afterwards read this thread how would you feel? Done over by Britax possibly?

See the full picture- renaming a seat in the middle of its production run is very misleading, can you not see that?

Oh I get it, sorry I got out of the wrong side of bed today . Funnily enough though this seat did get a 'good' rating for side impact and an 'acceptable' rating for front impact in 2006. This doesn't sound great but was actually the best rating for a non isofix group 1 car seat at the time (isofix was pretty new so they only reviewed one).

I would be interested to see the 2009 report, I am probably going to buy a second car seat and would prefer one with a higher safety rating if available now.

got two of these last year in argos, £64.95 each, Thought it was a bargain at the time, but imo they are rubbish. They look very well made and well padded in the pictures, but not so when you receive them. They are VERY fiddly when it comes to strapping and unstrapping your babies/kids. We struggle to get our 18 month old girls in and out of them now, so god knows what it's gonna be like when they're a few years older! :~(

When they get bigger you get rid of the small straps and use the main seatbelt so it does get easier. I used to find it helpful to press the button in and extend them as loose as they go each time before strapping them.

I had some trouble with the straps not loosening at first. I figured out that it was the seatbelt clamping them to the back of the seat as it loops around.

I remedied it by feeding the seat belt between the straps and the back of the seat.

Sorry for my rubbish description, hope it helps.
