Only Joking!!!

this was in argos, cheap too. usually when argos sell things really cheap, there's a reason for it so be warned, this is for your child's comfort, not just safety!

PERFECT!!! for my little bobbybutterbottom!!!:p

We bought 2 of these for my daughters from Toys R Us about 4 months ago (for £79.99 each) and they're great.

So it's not in the top 12?
A false economy, maybe?

Rather shocked that the "Which?" website has a link to the "Don't buy" car seats....follow the link and you have to be a subscriber to see what the dangerous seats are!
It seems "Which?" are putting profits before safety...

no you think info like that they would give away for free!! tight wads

also every car seat does not "fit" every car when i went to mothercare they wouldnt sell me a seat without checking the manufacturers lists dont know if this is only for isofix tho

We used the which report to buy our car seats and did end up spending more than we planned. The one we were going to buy (which Halfords said was the safest) scored really badly in a head on crash.

Seeing some of the videos on the which site really shocked me, I'd never buy a car seat without looking at that report now

impo price isnt an issue when it comes to my kids' safety, if the best one was £1000 thats what id pay

This is the safest one in the which report for over 15kg children.

The cheapest Britax Evolva 2-3 ISOFIT i could find bambinodirect.co.uk/det…tml

Might be of interest to someone....

Yes. Would someone with a which subscription please post the top 10 seats from each catagory....gotta be worth some serious rep

This seat from memory scored approx 55% in the Which reports , putting it middle of the road for safety and comfort . Obviously this seat is not as good as the ISOFIX seats , if you even have ISOFIX . However for the price , I feel that as long as the seat fitted your car correctly , which can be checked online at britax.co.uk/ind…der, then it is a good value seat .
This is the only link I have to any car seat reports , users.aol.com/dco…pdf , I think it was Deanos that posted this link a while back .

Forgot to say that even the best selling seats only score a max of 75-80% so a score of 55% is average . Also the majority of the best scoring seats are ISOFIX , which as we all know is the most secure way of anchoring a seat into your car .

I can remember these scores (pretty sure the scores are right , but if incorrect not by much)
63% Mamas & Papas Pro Tec
74% Maxi Cosi Priori XP (Best scoring seat at the time that fitted only with a seat belt and was the one I bought for my daughter)
77% Britax Hi-Liner (this was classed as a best buy High Backed Booster) , which has now been replaced with Britax Evolva 2-3 , again scoring virtually identical scores .
75% Maxi Cosi Rodi XP (again best scoring seat in this age range and again was the seat I bought my eldest daughter)

Nania is a make I would steer clear of , they have been known to split in two on impact !
The scores of the Which reports have not changed dramatically over the last few years , only the ISOFIX seats are obviously the highest scorers now days .

ordered as spare for family taxi service... thanks

ive reserved one for collection hope its as good as it looks will double check reviews later when i got more time thanks op

I find the Which results a bit skewed. Generally they always give ISOFIX seats a better rating, making you think they are safer, when in fact they are no safer than a correctly fitted normal restraint. Also they only test with one vehicle, it may be that in a crash your vehicle behaves differently and the results would be completely different.

It's important that the seat fits correctly into your car, that there is no buckle crunch and that when you pop your child into the seat you do the harness up tightly. Not all seats fit into all cars, you'll need to check out the fit, and I would go to a couple of places to check, as some of the Halfords/mothercare fitters I've come across have been useless, some have been good.

No - its not well said, its a glib, nonsensical statement that has no place on a forum such as this.

If I was to say to you that the safest childseat know to man had been designed and it was 5, 10 or £20,000 would you buy that?

If I was to say that a £20000 baby seat performed 5% better than a seat costing £100 would you still agree this was worth the purchase?

Not everyone can afford to pay fortunes for a car seat.

This is a hot deal.

if you read the begining of what i wrote IMPO (IN MY PERSONAL OPINION!)

and if the seat performed 1% better than the others I would pay up, and no not because i have money to burn becasue i love my children and value their safety.

the above is your opinion which you are entitled to share just like i am, and at then end of the day i know i have done the best for my kids and not saved a few quid where there lives are concerned!!

Ok then by that logic - Could I suggest you sell your car and use public transport and walking only as a means to get about. You will find that that is by far the safest means by which you can transport your loved ones about.

Yes it might be a little inconvenient - but I am sure you would agree if it was even 1% less likely that they would be killed or injured it would be worth it???

Hmmm - Thought not.

Yes its only your opinion - its just that its not a very well thought out one.

Well if your opinion was based on fact like mine is then your cocky reply would be proved wrong, I don't live in a city, town, or even a village there is no public transpot, school, or shop within a 3mile walk, so unlike most i need a car to get to school shops etc

so maybe you should try thinking before assuming other peoples circumstances, also i voted this a hot deal beacuse to somebody else it is just not to ME!

foxymissroxy;2723902

Ermm like you did before making your pious comments about child safety vrs affordability ?

you seem to have selective sight only reading the bits that can fuel your trolling now read the next bit very carefully

I WOULDNT BUY THIS SEAT, YET VOTED IT HOT BECAUSE TO SOME PEOPLE IT IS A DEAL

now go and find yourself a dictionary and try to determine the true meaning of the words you are using

in-store the seat is labelled "half price" at £49.99 - if you reserve for collect in store first, you get it for the £36.44

This is a good price for a good decent seat.
