About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
British Airways have different membership Tiers, Blue, Bronze, Silver and Gold, you have to collect Tier points to climb each Tier, at the moment if you book a BA holiday for 5 nights or more you get DOUBLE TIER POINTS, Tier points are calculated in the calculator below, most of Europe is 5 - 20 tier points each way for economy dependent on the ticket, Business Class or Club World as its called is 40 Tier points each way, there are a few cities that are further away and you get 80 Tier points each way, Sofia and Marrakech for example that gives you 80 Tier points each way in Club World so 160 return, now on the offer if you stay 5 nights in a hotel you will get DOUBLE TIER POINTS so 320 total each way in Club World.
BA Also has a special offer on where they have REDUCED the amount of Tier points required for each Tier until the end of the year, so if you achieve the minimum level you get upgraded to that Tier, at the moment Blue is entry so none required, Bronze is 225 Tier points, Silver is 450 and Gold is 1,125, SO with 2 return trips of 5 nights stay in a hotel travelling Club World to one of the further cities you could get SILVER, what does silver give you? check out the great benefits herebritishairways.com/en-…ers A few of the main benefits are Access to the BA lounge even when travelling economy for you AND a guest, an extra hold bag for ALL those on your booking, bag weight increase to 32kg per bag (does not include hand baggage only flights), check in at the business desk for all in your party, priority boarding for all in your party and the ability to select your seat at time of booking with no cost for all in your party.
This offer may help someone who is already a member and requires a few points to get over the bar to the next level or retain their level, note that in Morocco there is no extra charge for single occupants at some hotels. e.g. a single traveller can get 5 nights all inclusive at the Valeria Dar Atlas Resort, Marrakech for £328pp economy or upgrade to Club World (320 Tier points) for £520pp, other hotels available these are just examples. Also check out the Iberostar Club Palmeraie, Marrakech.
Example of business class fares to Marrakech can be found here together with hotels and prices, edit options as required britishairways.com/tra…_gb
This post is targeted specifically to help BA Tier point collectors
Check out cities to see what Tier points and also Avios you would get, note you DO NOT get Tier points if using Avios!

As Silver and Gold give the same benefits for all this on the bookings there may be one parter who would volunteer to do the 2 x spa all inclusive hotel stays to earn and hold the family Silver card, as there is no penalty for single travellers on some trips, this is really a bargain way to go from zero to hero in the BA card world! If you are going for gold from Zero and doing the Marrakech run then you would need to do 3.5 trips, so say 4, could you manage 4 x 5 nights in a spa hotel all inclusive with nightly shows on, and the discos keeping you awake, free food and drink 24/7? it could be a killer having to volunteer 4 times (4 x 320 tier points per trip= 1,280) for the families sake to earn and become the BA gold card holder Trips earning 320 Tier points can be had for £520 for a single traveller for 5 nights all inclusive from LGW, much less for room only! Remember you can also travel economy for even cheaper if you only require a few points to top up, again these are doubled IF you stay 5 nights somewhere.
COULD THERE BE A HOTUKD ALL INCLUSIVE MEET IN MARRAKECH IN MAY?

sorted byIn club world, Edinburgh > London > Athens and then return that would be ((80 + 160) x2) = 480 and the 4 flights required.
Someone check me?
I get free lounge access with my Natwest Black Account for anyone that wants another option.

They don't check you in but don't check you out, they will however see by your flight number when you check in when your flight is due to leave, I am sure that if you were transiting between flights they would not be bothered, it's more for the cheap people using points who check in 8hrs early to 'get their moneys worth' you see them with their crocs on and plates piled high with food, Oh and drinking alcohol and lots of it before say 11am
Don't worry as long as you are 5 nights its a done deal for double tier points, mine was the same and I checked again when I made another booking today, it was confirmed double tier points
I fly to that Prestwick place and then stay in a village called Air or something, will there be power up there? I suppose its a bit much to think they have wifi that far North! I will take a battery bank just in case, and if there is power what are the plug sockets, do I need an adapter? (edited)
I'm on a BA Club Europe Airbus A319 tomorrow, chose row 3 details of the aircraft here britishairways.com/en-…100
See below for pictures of my reasons for never picking seats 1C or 1D, you are constantly in the midst of mayhem as crew rush around trying to serve a pretty pointless breakfast going in and out of the galley, note the tray I mentioned blocking the middle seat, this is what you get on a flight to Scotland, will take some more pics tomorrow but expecting the same. I will have some decent food in the lounge before I leave and get an hours sleep, it's only a 1hr 30 min flight.
2 ALL INCLUSIVE HOLIDAYS
There is huge industry in Tier point collecting, not for all but I am certain someone will benefit, I am going for Lifetime gold but will be dead before I can achieve it, best to start young, very young

THESE ALL INCLUSIVE DEALS WILL MAKE YOU BOTH SILVER - FROM MANCHESTER!
You will earn 480 Tier points each return, only 450 required for Silver at the moment and you have qualified with 4 eligible flights!
MIN 5 NIGHTS
AND FOR 7 NIGHTS
You get upgraded as soon as you reach the Tier level required for the next level AND that also qualifies you at the end of your Tier year for the next year at that level, so infact if you achieve Silver in the first week or so of joining the BA Executive club as in the examples given above you would in fact get almost 2 years of Silver membership!
The same goes for any level, hope that helps.
Some people cancel their existing membership if they don't have many Avios on it and if the Tier year ends shortly after a trip as all your tier points go back to zero on the tier date renewal date, and start a new membership, that way they get almost the 2 years of the level they achieve
IF you achieve GOLD and don't fly the following year, BA run a scheme called 'soft landing', that means that at the end of the Gold year you are gently let down through the tiers, not a cliff edge fall, so you would be downgraded to Silver, that can also have some great benefits. (edited)
They have smaller less crowded lounges at B and C gates, which can also be used no matter what gate your flight is departing from.
They are a 5-10 minute walk along the secret basement walkway, or a couple of minutes by the transit train
Always in the bottles. For our trip to Rio recently we took 14 bottles, mostly for us to consume with my in-laws and rest as pressies - wine is expensive in Brasil and a bit, er, basic lol. So yeah, just make sure they're padded within clothes and the suitcase is as full as can be so they don't rattle about and you'll be fine. Think we took 4 bottles to Iceland and never had an issue with bottles in a suitcase.
Ironically, only smashed bottle was duty free on a long haul return from the US. Some careless idiot was moving stuff about in the overhead cabin and was taking our DF bagged booze out and bottle fell straight out, hit his face and onto the person below, consequently the bottle smashed. He blamed us and being american mentioned suing us. I basically told him he had no right to move our stuff in the first instance and his issue with not being careful if so (the amount of stuff he had up there was ridiculous and constantly touching and moving other folks property so he get his stuff in was appalling and should've been told off by flight crew). Whole cabin stank of whisky afterwards lol (nice 18 y/o for my dad's 70th so a complete let down that was lol).
I'm in Qatar, Dubai and Abu Dhabi in October so interested to hear your views on the Dubai lounge, not been there for a few years. When you achieve Silver or Gold it will also allow you to select your seats for ALL in your booking at the time you make the booking which is handy if you are a group or have a favourite seat
Yes your tier points reset on the annual anniversary, at the moment you can get double if booking a BA holiday, check the posts above. Also check above for Silver benefits, it’s all down to personal use.
I am in the Edinburgh BA lounge at the moment, it’s all waiter service so no grazing, here are a couple of pics for you
Bet you’re popular with the other business class passengers!
Of course, now amended, thanks
On bronze for like 2 years and not had the chance to use but this for silver if i time the membership year correct (July) then will have silver for 2 years
Stay in Glasgow and travelling alone so going to look at where i can get some sun whilst on the TP run as hope to get back to holidaying again also by flying business class i can spend the longish connection time in the lounge (edited)
You will be fine, Tier points could take up to 60 days to appear on your account but I know people who got them a week later, here are the full details, there is a further link with for even more Tc&Cs britishairways.com/en-…nts
BA’s beer
It's great for someone who flies a lot with BA and partners. Other than that the benefits are not that impressive - lounge etc. can be acquired for much less - credit cards, priority pass etc.
I dont do many outside of Europe trips right now, and in Europe prefer to have a choice of other airlines - fr/w6/ez.. anyway, I could see this working for someone - heat!
I feel the same as you, BUT at these discounted Tier pints and membership levels it gives people a chance to experience it when otherwise they probably never had the time or money to do so with the travel required. Benefits of extra baggage for those that travel economy plus the quick check in and priority boarding is worth a bit, Amex Platinum will give you 2 x Priority passes each of which can take a guest, so yes it's harder to justify. PLUS THE DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONES so get the booking EXACTLY RIGHT before pressing PAY!
Bingo, that's the best way. Get a train (or flight) to Edinburgh and you're sorted
Madrid wouldnt get enough TP's for Silver:
Start at the beginning and it DOES all end in Tiers! Forget Avios for a moment but you do earn enhanced Avios with each Tier.
BA has 4 Tiers and has reduced the amount of Tier points (see calculator below) that you require to achieve that level by 25% for all Members until 31 December 2022.
This means you can benefit from lower Tier Point thresholds until this date, as shown below:
From 1 January 2023, these thresholds will revert back to normal.
TIER POINT CALCULATOR - britishairways.com/tra…_gb
Forget IHG etc, the hotel needs to be booked via BA but you can still get some benefits if you give your IHG number at checkin, you will also notice that prices are not that much different whether you booked direct or via BA, minimum of 5 nights hotel holiday required for DOUBLE Tier points
AND HERE IS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT EACH TIER:
britishairways.com/en-…its
Also, you are less likely to get any Hotel Rewards from IHG if not booked directly with them
Go ALL INCLUSIVE to Marrakech for £520 each in May from LGW or a bit more from Scotland, see examples above and you could both come home Silver
I'm Platinum IHG and have had room upgrades but never points for bookings via BA. (edited)
I had actually used this offer to book Halkidiki last year which would've got me the TP's for Silver, unfortunately Greece went into further lockdowns so it was cancelled.
This would be great if it tied in with a route that occasionally has a long haul aircraft substituted instead of A319/320.
I know the LHR-ATH and LHR-LCA sometimes use 787/777
We mayd be on same flight lol. Yeah, either Marrakech or Istanbul. Problem with Marrakech is the flight times re connection times and many you need to connect from Gatwick to Heathrow vice/versa which is an absolute ballache (done it before and never again). Times are 9-14hrs hours total. Ist is better timewise and we'd like to go anyway to take in the culture and history. Some great looking hotels there too after checking where to stay so I think we'll probably go to Turkey instead.
And yes, sorry, meant Jan 8th 2024. If that's correct then fantastic - we'll hopefully fly at least one long haul this year and 2023 if things ease up a bit re a certain pandemic.
And for those on a budget, thanks to global warming, Scotland is now a viable holiday destination:
I would take a StarLink catellite dish just in case:
OK I will take a look, I was in one lounge, Gulf Air I think and it was a 'dry' lounge so no alcohol served there or on the aircraft either.
Dont think the seats are any bigger, they put a tray/ seat divider on the middle seat so you get either a window or isle seat. You should also get food and drink complimentary too
