Chances are there was a fair amount of standing around, and thats when people grabbed luggage. I doubt anyone behind you would let you get it down if people were actively moving off the aircraft.

Sorry but it was an emergency evacuation, nobody in their right mind should be thinking of getting there carry on case down, let alone think about taking it down an emergency slide.in the picture posted you can see people emerging from the smoke who were probably held up by selfish people dragging a bag behind/in front of them which is taking up critical space on a narrow walkway.you add up all that space that is being taken up by said bags and it probably adds up to a fair amount of spaces that people trying to get out could be stood in.

Im not the only one who thinks it's wrong -

And what about all those Britsh companies operating abroad making a … And what about all those Britsh companies operating abroad making a healthy profit ? Works both ways.Better service than many other airlines - a bit more expensive but worth it in my opinion especially if you are travellling with kids. I can recall one occasion when the flight was overbooked for some reason or other and BA offered hotel accomodation and £300 for anyone who was prepared to catch another flight the next day. Given the choice I would go with BA anytime

And a lot of "British" companies operating abroad are Foreign owned.

It's very helpful, it's what I used before my trip last week - it's a dedicated forum for New York so it's bound to be more helpful than a request on here.

Exactly
Daily Mail reading Twitter users trying to turn a non story into a headline by finding someone who can be 'insulted' by an action that most folk can cope with rationally without needing to be told how to think.

Daily Mail and Twitter - bad combination.

Tbh nope not yet.I do look on there normally, but I haven't looked for a while. It was merely a generic request to see whether there were people on this forum who have been and had some worthwhile tips.
Doesn't seem that great a deal really.
