This summer British Gas will service your boiler for just £49

Can you remember when your boiler was last serviced?

CORGI recommend that you get your boiler serviced every year to keep you safe and keep it running efficiently.

Why book a Boiler Service?

You save £30 off our usual price

All British Gas engineers are CORGI registered
Ensure your boiler is working efficiently before winter begins

Contact us by 15th August and we'll service your boiler for just £49. Book online or call us on 0845 600 1054°.

What will the engineer do during the service?

A gas pressure check to ensure there are no gas leaks
A flue test to ensure there are no unsafe emissions from your boiler
Inspect your boiler and controls to make sure they are operating safely
Visually inspect the boiler to check for corrosion and leaks

Or you could still go for this one from npower at £29 - see my earlier posting here:

npower i think charge £30

I'm not a fan of BG but the young chap who serviced mine did a great job. Mines 30 years old and I'm almost twice the boiler age!

this good price as my sister pays £75.00 a year insurance and only includes the items mentioned above, but watch out.they usually say your radiators need flushing and then your looking at a lot of money.this is what they did to us and we paid the earth and 6 months later it needed doing again.

Dont touch it with a bargepole or anything!!
I am sure that this is another approach on the following:-
I have heard of several instances where BG have recently under contract seviced boilers from approx 8-12 years old. They have found something wrong with the bolier and then said because the boiler is "old" they cannot get the parts and having turned the boiler off and stuck a CORGI label on it saying it is unfit for use. They then have suggested you should get a new boiler from them! THIS IS A SCAM! Ask them to provide a report defining the defective parts and then go to your local independent gas fitting wholesaler and ask them if they can supply the parts. In every case this was the case and then you can get an independent CORGI fitter to fit them. (2 of these instances were in my family and have learnt of 2 more subsequently)

All have subsequently cancelled their BG contracts and save £'s using a small independent CORGI fitter to do the annual service and emergency call out.

Yes this is another BG scam we came up against in my family. If you talk to an independent fitter again he will tell you this usually affects downstairs radiators only. The solution is to take these off and flush them with a hose in the garden. Cost around £20-£30 +VAT per radiator if they can be isolated individually.

i get it done for £44

I'm pretty sure the posters state that the price is for BG customers

Whatever - go elsewhere- it will save you money in the long run!

What if you have a megaflow boiler? Does this service still cover it?

if it's a boiler then it should be covered no matter the brand

Yes, the advertising stuff says quite clearly british gas customer only. Beware the small print, as always with British Gas there is always a catch. They will try and sell you their Homecare service at the same time.
Also you are basically paying £ 49.00 for a guy to take the cover off the boiler and stick an anayliser test on it
mind you they do usually charge £ 79.00 for doing this so thats a plus. However how they can tell if there is any possible problem brewing with your boiler by doing this I dont quite understand. My Mums Corgi eng gets the case off -the vac goes in -he fires it up tests the system checks the rads checks the loft tanks and has a general good check of everything. He also doesn't keep her waiting forever if the thing breaks down.
I also think I'm right in saying that they dont want to know if the boiler is more than seven years old but I might be wrong. As per normal British Gas are out to make as much money as poss for doing as little as they can get away with. Better off with your local Corgi bloke.

Just booked a service with Npower as it's cheaper and BG are not getting good review!!.
FYI, Halifax offer a home emergency policy for only £5 a month and this is an excellent service.

My boler is working for central heating but the water is only like warm
