Destroy?
Got one a couple of weeks ago and to be honest it's crap. I've tried switching off 5ghz and several resets but just refuses to work properly. Will be going back shortly.

Yes, it will congest the wifi and slow it down to a crawl

But its only going to take up one channel? No different to having another router surely?
These tend to pick channels other than the 1,6 and 11 that should be the only ones you use. 1 6 and 11 can take turns with other devices and routers using them but all other 2.4ghz channels cannot be detected and queued as traffic to take turns and are instead seen only as undetected noise.

Think most WiFi extenders do the same.
I bought one of those belkin plug in types. It gave me range by my god it allowed my 45mbs connect down to nothing.

Ended up selling it on FB marketplace.

Now using a bt home hub bridged from my sky router and just placed the bt hub centre of the house.

For anyone having issues with wifi and considering these products - AVOID...
Not only they will congest your channels but also keep in mind there is no listing on chipsets used or capabilities...

I would advice to analyse root cause of poor wifi signal - its not a secret that ISP provided routers are poor garbage most times with buggy firmware and non existent wifi performance. Request different router as most times they have different selection!
Decent router not only will improve wifi coverage but also give you much better response rate and internal network speeds...
Another root cause is actual device you using - some devices have poor wifi cards which can be changed on certain devices - if not then get rid of device (no point keeping old outdated tech these days) or you can try relocating router to centre house(if its good router). Or use reputable manufacturer wifi extender as last resort - connected with ethernet cable or power over ethernet on other end of house.

Same here. Not sure what everyone else is moaning about. Obviously a root issue with their router. This works in my house fine
