Just seen this on Morrisons Facebook page for Father’s Day. They’ve reduced their rump steaks from £15 to £9 per kilogram and you can buy the 2 packs online and instore but if you go to the Market Street butchers counter they will cut it to the size you want. Makes a 32oz rump steak £8.16 - handy if they run out of the tomahawk ones.

Obviously cut to size ones only instore but you can buy the pre-packed ones online too.
Offer ends 17th June

If it was suitable, how would you process it?

cut into extremely thin slices (or ask the butcher at the store to do it). Place in dehydrator. Add salt + pepper. Wait for several hours.

My store always has tons of stock when they do deals. Maybe talk to the management of that store. Someone's obviously hinting to a friend or not ordering enough.
Picked up a 32 oz'er earlier thus morning. It's massive!

Better than sirloin.
When they had the Rib Eye steak for £10/kg offer a little while back I bought a £46 'block' and asked them to cut it into 12 steaks (which they happily did). I then put them in the Sous Vide for 48 hours at 52 degrees with a little seasoning and some liquid smoke.

Then froze them for 10 days for our BBQ.

Took them out of the freezer morning of the barbie, back in the Sous Vide for a couple of hours at 48 degrees just to thaw them out.

Got the barbie pit up to high temperature and using Les Creuset griddle pans really heated to searing hot temps before adding the steaks, cooked them for 45 seconds per side to sear, seal and give a bit of 'crust'.

They melted in the mouth, first time I'd used a Sous Vide 'properly' to prepare steaks in advance and I'll always be doing it that way now.

So if you have the space and are willing to invest the aggro factor buy a Sous Vide, you can prepare food well in advance and leave it in your freezer for weeks till you need to eat it, I'm a busy guy and would never have thought this would make so much difference to the meat.

Yum Yum

If you got them to trim the fat and sinew off, it would be perfect.
Just need to adjust dry rub amounts and hanging times.

Not sure I understand the question? Process it? Do you mean cook? Depends on whether you're making jerky or biltong.

Jerky => Stick beef round (reasonable lean cut) in freezer for 30 minutes, slice the beef as thinly as you can manage. Marinade over night (various spices, liquid smoke, soy), then stick in a dehydrator @ 50-60C for 6-12 hours. Some people will use a lower temperature, then give it a quick blast in the oven to kill off any nasties.

Biltong, better to ask someone else I'm no expert. It's a similar process to jerky, but it's usually hung and smoked and isn't anywhere near as dry

This offer finished today so you won't get it at this price. You might get some reduced to clear ones though as if they have already been packed they should be reduced from the offer price, assuming the date is the same day you are in.
Had one last night and was very nice.
Anyone know if Morrisons are going to be doing anything similar to this for the Bank Holiday?

Bought two 'complete' blocks last time they did it for the Rib Eye and Sous Vide'd them. Ate one block at a BBQ and the second we have been eating steak every few weeks but starting to get a bit low so want to do some more and fill up the freezer again.

When it was on this offer for Fathers Day it was £9 per kg and its now on offer from £15 a kg to £10 a kg until the 19th so based on that, I wouldn't of thought they would be dropping it any lower for the bank holiday and at a £1 more its not that bad an offer
