As title, this isn't the pre packed and as much as I prefer New Zealand shoulder, this is a good price, usually £7.40 per kilo.

ASDA leg of lamb is at £5.99 per kg. Waiting for the annual leg of lamb supermarket war at £4.00 per kg to start.

Why do you prefer New Zealand lamb? Local lamb should be cheaper and better, i know the price is not always cheaper.

I've just always found it to have a slightly better taste, and a bit more tender. Probably more to do with my mam only ever using NZ lamb when I was young though
I do MUCH prefer shoulder to leg though, wherever its from!

good stuff ,am a bit surprised, although is final Friday last wage of the month, 1st Dec tomorrow so want hot headline on here tomorrow.

Fair enough!
I agree with the shoulder comment. Slow roasted can't beat it. Plus much better value.

It’s from the Shoulder . Don’t know if they still do but I remember when there was a NZ printed stamp on the fat on the leg.

Agreed. Nice and crispy fat.

I prefer leg of lamb. Shoulder tends to be very fatty.

That's why you cook it slowly, minimum five hours. All the fat renders down and the meat just falls off the bone. Sit it on top of sliced potatoes and onions and they soak up all the meat juices. Food of the Gods.
