Decent deal to get to France. Use day crossings to get the best price.

Awful customer service, lousy command the French dockers were on strike with wildcat action so we are avoiding France and Brittany Ferries.

Have you tried using Condor? Trust me they are far worse. They cancel about 20% of their crossings during non peak season. The rest run but with delays.
Brittany Ferries can not control the dockers striking. It affected all shipping in to the ports where the dockers were striking. My parents live in France so as a family we do a lot of travelling to and from. The only good reason to go with Condor is they stop at Guernsey or Jersey so you can get some duty free. We have never tried the tunnel due to the distance from my parents house.

You do realise Brittany Ferries own Condor?

As cat its operational window is smaller as well as a question on the reliability of those 4 engines.

However, highly rate Brittany Ferries customer services - in the most challenging situations they have been truly amazing in my experience both directly and with family members.

Stand corrected on that bit - had seen a friend do Poole to Cherberg via Brittany, get my Brittany discount and be on a Condor - also some other tie in in the port ops. However, checking they are hedged fund owned and presently up for sale.
Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) own Condor I had dealings with them in the 90s when they were sailing out of Torquay, they weren't affiliated with Brittany ferries then and as far as I know they aren't now but I'm out of the debt loop now.

edit Bertz99 corrected his comment before I posted mine

Probably best to avoid France, all the French people there ruin it!
