3.49 X 12 - 50 = You make a profit

Don't you have to take out line rental along with this offer? something like £12 a month.

£3.49 + £12.30 line rental + 40GB download limit + throttle of P2P programs + worst customer service = would never go for TalkTalk even if it was free.

I have just finished 18 month contract with talk talk.Don't expect anywhere near 24meg,For my first 3 months with them I got 0.3mb,the rest of the contract It improved to between 1-2 mb.
Customer service is a joke, only this morning rang retentions to see what deal they would give me if i stayed with them, and it took 15 minutes to answer. My broadband had been £6.99 with them for all the contract..£23.78 in total, including line rental, and anytime phone calls.....anyway,they offered me the same as new customers,12 months at £3.49,making my monthly total £20.28.
Said I'd ring them back if I want it....I suppose it's £42 saved over the year.

Welcome to Pain.

Line rental is ALWAYS extra regardless of who is advertising a deal, they NEVER quote it including the line rental.

is 3.49 actually an accurate representation of the price. only 3.49 is nowhere near the total monthly price.
further savings are possible with talk talk as their lines frequently drop so customers are able to save by the inability to use the phone.

Talk Talk site INCLUDES the line rental fee. And I think it is illegal to advertise without. Line rental is omitted on here for obvious reasons. It's £12.30 btw. So cold from me.

bit lke saying free ipad and forgetting to mention a 24 month contract and an obligation to pay for it though

This company should be called 'Pants - Pants' .... the word 'bargepole' comes to mind.

Be very wary of TalkTalk’s billing department, it does some odd things. Recent changes seem to have made matters worse and you may not be charged what you expect. You could be charged £12.30 plus £3.49 plus two separate amounts for anytime calls. It seems that customers on the same package are being charged different amounts without any explanation. Any attempt to sort it out will be extremely frustrating and probably futile.

Indeed. Its something you have to have but they never quote it, or if they do its tiny print at the bottom of the screen that you cant read anyway.

Look on any comparison websites for cheap broadband/phone deals and NONE will include line rental.

I'm with TalkTalk and can download a 700mb file via Bitorrent in 25 minutes. The only problem I have is with PirateBay, downloads never even start.

True, customer service via the phone is a pain, but the TalkTalk members forum can sort any problems out for you quickly.

I'm with talktalk too - speed slightly increased with talktalk - they did overcharge me - I phoned them up and got a refund (my previous ISP overcharged me too!!!!)

I'm with them and it has saved me money - I was a bit dubious about them - but it's been all good for me :-)

Worst company ever... I've been with them for 8 months since they bought out F2s...

They've billed me incorrectly 6 times out of 8 (only agreeing to credit to account rather than back into bank)

They messed up my phone and broadband and spent weeks sorting it again (no compensation.)

They never ring you back - I've been awaiting callback from a manager for over a month now - each time I ring they promise me they'll ring back by the end of the day...

Completely useless...

I was with Talk talk for 18 months. Our speed was terrible - I couldn't even watch iplayer. And our phone regularly went off for hours at a time, with no explanation - no dialling tone, nothing. I cancelled the contract, by recorded delivery, and moved to Sky. Now, six weeks after they acknowledged the letter, they are denying getting it and still trying to charge me. Terrible company.

Would never touch these fools again, very happy with Virgin currently, 30 mb solid and never had an internet or phone issue.

You are incorrect. Just because the ISP try to rip you off doesn't mean we have to continue here.
The price is £3.49 + £12.90 = £16.39 per month and that is what you should quote. (actually they do quote line rental).
The service is very restricted and maybe just about ok for emails and browsing. Forget iPlayer or 4OD, etc.

Would never use them again, no matter how cheap.

I would never go to Talk Talk since I had them on my doorstep telling me complete lies and verbally insulting my neighbour and myself as part of their sales technique.
